Hi all,

This is really odd probably but better safe than sorry. We are in the process of buying DVC direct with Disney and our guide is called Ricardo Quiroz.

We've done a lot of talking by email and phone, but I know how easy it is to be scammed these days. Before I pay for the points, can I just check whether anyone else has purchased from him and that he is genuine Disney please?! His email address is Disney.com so I’m sure there is nothing to worry about, but I’m having a moment of paranoia!

Thank you 😊

How about calling the DVC main number and asking for him? That will confirm that he does work there.

I will if no one here has heard of him, but I’m in the UK so trying a less costly checking method first, than an international phone call!

Ahh, didn't realize you were in the UK. I checked with my neighbor who is a DVC guide herself and she confirmed him. She knows him.

I didn’t know you can buy direct from Uk, thought you had to be in USA,

Ricardo Quiroz.

Has been around a long time:

In theory though someone could have just found his name. If you are truly worried I would call through the main line its the closest thing to a guarantee.

Worst case? You get a new credit card.....

You should see a contract in 24-48 business hours and your points likely show up 24-72 hours later as well.

So you could just keep an eye on your credit card until then.

We were assigned Ricardo as our Guide when our original Guide either had too big a customer load or she was no longer dealing directly with customers. I've noticed with the last few email and brochures from DVC about purchasing DVC points before the current offer expires, that Ricardo is no long listed on these. Of course the last time we bought any points direct was maybe 2001. I guess they have figured out we're not going to buy any more.

A vlogger I follow lives in the UK and financed with Disney. She bought within the last year so I don’t know if that makes a difference.

You can use Disney finance but need to be in US To sign paperwork
kind of makes no sense for UK to finance though as Disney is 9.9% and we can get loans for 2.8% quite easily.

you could also sign up to Disney finance on holiday and then pay it all off when you get home and get your finance sorted
