Interestingly, our flights for next week and the following remain less than half full. (This route has always been completely full on the many times we've flown it before.) Tickets have gone back up to nearly $300 r/t. (We thought we paid too much last fall when we paid $135 for our tickets at the last minute!! This time, it cost us around $200 - bought just a couple of weeks ago.) Ticket prices sure aren't falling for our area!!!

Are you using the seat map as your judge??? It's not always accurate. I have gotten on Delta flights that were PACKED where the seat map gave me a choice of most of the seats on the plane and I have gotten on Delta flights where the stupid seat map kept giving me only middle seats to discover I had whole empty rows.

It has to do with the code shares and the fact that some folks actually do not book thier seats in advance.

I've also learned that the seat maps aren't accurate. Frequent flyer seats are set aside for awhile, but may be released when it's closer to departure, and there really ARE people who don't get assigned seats in advance. The plane may have many more seats sold than it appears ........... or not.

We'll see on Thursday. However, I've always found the seat maps to be fairly accurate -- erring more on the side of looking more booked when not.

Our direct flights to Orlando would not have been even 1/2 full if some folks from flights that had been cancelled hadn't been placed on ours. Even then, there were plenty of empty seats.
