Garden Grill and replaced it with Les Chefs De France.

depends on what you're wanting...if you want characters, Garden Grill. Food is better at Chefs; service was about the same for us (good service) Garden Grill food was good, but Chef's is better. Both places are not really fancy food (despite the fancy name, Chef's is French cafe food - like Mom's home cooking,French style - so the main thing fancy about the food there is the names of the dishes are in French (though the description is in English.)

We've done garden Grill numerous times and nothing changes, average food with great characters. We are trying Chefs de France this time at the request of the kids, and to think I was going to the Grill for them and they were tired of it too! It is just a matter of whether or not seeing the characters at your table are important.

Anything is better than Garden Grill. Our daughter loved the characters there and we ate there at least 3 years until she too finally said the food is awful we don't have to eat here anymore. So I think you did the right thing!

...but expect SLOW service. Not the fault of the waiters, there is only one close out stand for the whole restaurant and the waiters have to wait in line to use it!!! CRAZY. We have been to Chef's 3 times now at the slowest times of the year and at different times of the day....and waiting for our check has always taken FOREVER!!!!

Based on our experience with both restaurants - essentially the quality of food....I think it was an excellent move!

IMO, although the characters are fun at the Garden Grill, the food was not good at all.

I have not been to the Garden Grill but was at Chefs this week. The overall verdict from our group was a thumbs up. All the adults had the soup/meal/dessert. Both soups were fabulous, the meals were decent and the dessert really good. Service was quick and friendly. We had reservations for 2:30 and it started out packed but by the time we left only a couple of tables had people. Remy was a big hit with the kids.

I don't know anything about Les Chefs but Garden Grill food is HORRIBLE! Worst food we've ever had at Disney and that's not something I would say just if the food was mediocre.

I disagree. We liked the Garden Grill. We've never eaten at France so I can't say whether or not you've made a good decision but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Garden Grill and have just scheduled it again for our upcoming August vacation.

I say you made a good choice, but that's only my opinion! Hopefully you enjoy Chefs! Although I won't be dining at Chefs on my upcoming trip, it is a personal favorite.

IMHO it was an excellent decision. We love Chefs and never miss it.

We have eaten at both and honestly, neither are on our 'must go back' list.
Garden Grill: Characters are fun but the food was really not good. There are far better character meals with much better food that GG.
Chef de France: We went for lunch. The menu never really interested us, but we went to meet Remy. Our kids LOVED meeting him, but he is only at your table for a minute or two...the service was excellent but the food was average at best. Glad we did it to see the famous 'rat' but we have no desire to hurry back there.

I am so glad to hear so many good reviews about Les Chefs de France as I just booked lunch there for April We have never eaten there and now I am very excited

Thank you to everyone for your replies. Meeting Remy was part of our decision to make the change. We ate at GG last year and decided to try something else.
