Just cancelled Club Level studio for Thanksgiving week - Nov 26 -28. Call now if you want it!! :)

Did you happen to check if it showed up online as available? One would think it was held immediately by the system for matching against the Waitlist queue.

Just for grins, not because I needed it, I checked the website and it is not showing available. Hopefully, the waitlist system worked for someone. :thumbsup2

I saw it as available. Either someone picked it up, or the waitlist grabbed it a few minutes later.

Huh. I'm stymied. I almost can't imagine that there wasn't at least one waitlist seeking these dates/unit -- and that, in my opinion, should have prevented the unit from every appearing as 'available.' The waitlist queue should have had priority.

Go'figure.

None of us really knows how the wait list works. Anecdotal evidence reported here suggests that cancelled rooms go right back into the pool and are not checked against the wait list in real time. Or if they are, room nights are not set aside unless they fill a wait list in its entirety. Some people have reported being told that the wait list process is run at the end of the day, and that nights that fully fill a wait list are set aside, and that a CM then manually completes the process the next day. If true, then cancelled nights that someone is waiting for might be sitting in inventory for hours, available to anyone who cares to snatch them up before the wait list process ever looks for them.

The current wait list process probably worked well enough before online booking came along. The odds that someone would happen to call MS and ask for any nights cancelled that very day were pretty small. But now that we can check inventory online, people frequently report finding some or even all of the nights on their wait list online.

I know two days ago I was able to book a Club level room that I was not waitlisted for the second week of November. I was looking online for a room at SSR and it showed as available so I grabbed it!!!
