was going to buy through Buydig, sold out.... Beach, sold out... had to go through Butterfly, so I am kinda nervous after reading a couple of negatives about them recently... price was $499, but would have gladly paid $523 for piece of mind from Buydig...

anyway, will let you know when (if) I get it....

I just bought a new lens for mine, arriving any minute now from Amazon: a Sigma 18-125 which, I think, should serve me well as a good walk-around. I'm not partial to big fat long bulky lenses -- my sister hauls around a hulking 70-300 monster around her neck, and I think that's just too much. :crazy2:
 
to clarify, I did order it, what I meant was I would update when (if) it arrives via Fedex...
 

I have a buddy that ordered from Butterfly, they called him to verify credit info(and hard sell some extras). Everything was good but he did not like that they called him 3 days after he thought it was already in transit and that was a Friday, after he declined they then told him it would ship Monday(it did). So it took like 10 days from the time he placed the order(weekday business hours), to having it in hands and that was with 2-3 day shipping that he paid a few bucks extra for.
 
just called Butterfly (sunday at 10:15 central), they provided Fedex number, which I then verified through FedEx ... so far so good... supposed to arrive Weds.
 
got the camera today, and the dang thing is defective... see a sample below... every picture looks like this on the right side... tried new card, different batteries, nothing fixed it... so i call Butterfly to set up an exchange, and am put on their hold system... 1 hour and 26 minutes later, I suddenly get a "we are closed" spiel... so now I am upset... more so at Butterfly's CS, and less about the camera, since faulty equipment can occur, but faulty CS is easily prevented... I am now going to just return the thing outright to Butterfly and start the task over... :sad:

it looks like the sensor is bent. From the pattern, it seems like it's a manufacturer's defect (not shipping damage)

I agree about the CS. I would be very ticked also. Dump 'em :thumbsup2
 
...the half of the picture that wasn't ruined looked pretty good. :blush:
