:D Seems like there are clearing for something. I wonder what.

I just bought a whole mess of them. They were 75% off. I can't wait until I go in July to trade. I think it is the most fun out of the trip. Of course my son thinks I am crazy.

We also bought a ton for the kids to trade. Last year they really wanted to trade, but I thought it was such a shame to spend $6.50 to buy a new pin to trade with a used one from a CM. I know that they aren't really "used", but it just didin't seem right to me. Anyway, the kids really had fun, so now we have a bunch of pins we paid 62 cents - $1.12 for, acutally less with the DVC discount and they can trade all they want.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! Guess I'll run out first thing in the morning and stock up for my March 1 trip.

What pins are you getting for 62 cents? My store has them for $1.12 and they are the plain MMM ones that were originally $4.50.

and they retailed for $5.00. The ones I got were from Thanksgiving 2002, the Winnie the Pooh with the birthstone on them and a bunch of others....I think they were the year of Disney pins but I could be mistaken. As I was walking out of the store I then found the Disney Music pins that were only $4.50 and thought I should have bought those instead.....but I think I did just fine. They too were marked 75% off and rang up at $.62. I was very happy to get the pins for that...even though I was expecting to pay $1.25 too.
Happy trading,
Liz

Besides all of us getting nice traders, what I am very happy to see are the newcomers now buying pins too.
:)
Each time I have been at the Omaha DS during this sale, there have been at least three new pin buyers! :) I have spoken to them and they have known either nothing or next to nothing about park pin trading.
So it is nice to see some new pin faces appearing with interest! :)
Too bad the stores don't sell some nice, new ones while the interest is high again.

For y'all that want to know which ones come up 0.62:

I believe the ones with the blue paper backing (not the Mickey's Music ones that are black) are the 0.62 ones. They have something about a Month on them (the paper, not the pins--but some of the pins are date-related).

Hope this helps!

UPDATE: Well, now I'm reading some posts above mine and they're saying the Mickey's Magical Musical whatevers are the .62 ones. Tried to find my receipts but they're gone. Can anybody help out here?

The ones with the Blue backings are the .62 cents ones, they were originally $5.00. The musical ones with the black backing that were originally $4.50 are $1.12. Hope this helps.

The poster pins were ringing up different. I forget what the amount was. I think maybe a whole whopping 70 or 75 cents. ;)

Just a word of warning -- friend who works at the Disney Store told me that she has been directed to BOX UP all the sale pins by end of the day tomorrow...don't know where they are going, but they are being taken off tomorrow -- at least at the Great Northern Disney Store in Ohio!

Our DS is in the process of "bucketing" (their word, not mine!) all remaining pins. They will still be there but you will have to dig through the buckets instead of them hanging in some order on the racks. This store (Ft. Worth) still has HUNDREDS of both the .62 and the 1.12 pins.
I think my dh is going to try to have me barred from the store until they're all gone.;)

ladyandtramp......I was just at the GN DS yesterday! :teeth:

Got $42 worth of pins. Mostly for my boys to trade at WDW when we go in Dec.
The ones with the blue backs rang .62, the MMM rang $1.12, the ones that played music rang $2.12.

went last night to the disney store, bought 137 pins total, regular retail would have set me back $748.39 includ tax / dc discount . but my total for sale came to 102.79 includ. tax and dc/ discount and on top of that because I spent over 65.00 I got a 15.00 gift card in return.....so not so bad of a shopping day.now if I could only fall into that kind of deal to get to WDW.....
