Normally I wait till about 4 months out, but with all the gas price increases, and nervousness in the middle east, I went ahead and bought my Tickets for my Sept trip. Leaving Maddison at 7 am and arriving in Orlando at 12:40 (should give me a half day at DHS). and coming back Oct 5th at 6 PM. Got 'em for $480 for the 2 of us.... time will tell if I got a deal or not.

240pp is a good deal-- but what are you going to be paying for luggage?

We have a trip coming up in August but air is over 700.pp.
I am not jumping inbecause of the gas prices etc. (it may bite me later but i am willing to take the chance.

This makes me feel better. I also purchased mine for our fall trip this weekend. I was getting nervous about all the high gas prices too.

Mine were $167 one way on SW from Albany NY to Orlando.

I wanted to book mine this early but I have a boyfriend that waits till the last min to do anything and since we are going down together I have to wait to ensure we get the same flight :headache:

one bag per person is Included... I booked it through the corporate travel department at my job, and one of the perks is one checked bag and no fee for seat assignments.

i have two (non Disney) trips to Europe coming up in May and August. I booked both airfares last month after tracking airfares and getting an opinion from a TA that I use occasionally. No one is expecting any fares to go down for the summer/fall travel period. Just because I'm curious, I continue to track the fares on Kayak and they both have gone up steadily. OTOH, I did miss a "special" on my flight to MCO next month and overpaid by $75 PP but I wasn't too bummed.

Flying isn't as easy as it used to be. Airlines are reducing the number of flights and planes are full. I haven't been on a plane that had more than 2-3 empty seats in over a year. I miss the days of having space to spread out and not being in your neighbors lap.

I purchased our Sept. tickets from JFK to Orlando on JetBlue. R/T for three of us was $770 the day it came out. The next day it was $811. I got it the 2nd day. Now, two weeks later those same three tickets are $1,066. I'm really glad I jumped on it when I did. Just wish I hadn't even waited the one day LOL

havn't booked our flights yet but i have been stalking jet blue for a one day special or discount on my flights. cueerntly it will be $1076 for the 4 of us to fly round trip.

Current pricing for us is Cincinnati to Orlando $280/pp x 2 of us for non-stop (not including bags). Only glitch is the return flight - the only n/s they have leaves at 7:30 a.m. :scared:

TA recommended I hold out for a while - each year we've gone, more flights have been added towards Summer with better prices. Crossing my fingers this happens again this year. :hippie:

I think it's wise to buy if it's a price you can live with. IMHO prices won't be dropping.

We're in KY-flights out of Louisville are generally too high so we drive to Indy or Nashville.

We just booked our air tonight. I found non stop flights on Airtran out of Indy for $658 for 3 round trip tickets. And the times are great-arrive at 12PM and depart at 7PM-so we have time to enjoy something on both days! Nothing else came close to that, even after adding a bag free for each of us.

I'm so, so, so excited about our trip :woohoo::banana: We're going 9/28-10/6.

Now I hope we can get CSR booked with FD on Monday :yay:

I see you are from Cincy, not too far from Indy either. Have you checked Airtran out of Indy? They had a lot of dates in Sept for $110 non stop flights at some decent times.

On JetBlue if the prices really go down, you can call them and get a credit towards a future flight (to be used within a year) for the difference. I've done that in the past.

DH won't fly out of Indy because of the drive. The furthest he will go is Dayton (we're kind of centrally located between CVG and Dayton). I found decent prices out of Columbus, too, but he won't drive that far.

I appreciate the info, though. Maybe when he sees the prices he will change his mind

I purchased mine as well.
I spent $1000 for 4 of us.

What airline are you using?
We were able to get Air Tran, 4 round trip, ns, tix out of Philly (I assume you are the same airport) for $1062

We paid an extra $15 per person to get preferred seating but worth it. Air Tran has 3 seats on one side & 2 on the other. First time flying for the kids so we wanted to be on the 2 seat side and back to back of each other (divide & conquer :) 8:30am out and 8pm back. A little late for us but we'll have a full day to hit another park or 2 on our last day.

I booked with SW a week ago for a one way trip on Oct 14. The cost for 3 of us was $464.40. The dates were listed about 4 days prior and I had to wait to book. I wish I didn't have to. I wanted to go with Jetblue as they had a non stop trip leaving Buffalo at 10:10 and was only $145, by the time I went to book it was up to $310. Airtran has a departure of around the same time for about $166 however they also charge $20 per checked bag and sorry but I refuse to have to pay for something that is absolutely mandatory to take. I'm now worried cause DH wants to wait until the summer to book return flights and am afraid that the costs are going to skyrocket.

First day I looked at the Jetblue outbound from JFK to MCO was $113. That was the day the flights were released. Next morning it was $138. 2 more days $158. Within a week it was $198. It's insane. Inbound didn't go up as fast, it's now at $158 or $178. I don't remember and haven't looked in a few days. If my niece decideds to join us, since she's paying for her own tickets, she's going to have to fly Southwest which is coming in at about $105 each way. Only problem is the times are awful.

ETA: Just checked and that outbound is now $231, the r/t price for my trips is up to $388 r/t pp!
