free dining!!!! :cool1:

I booked the free dining for quick service. Do you think that we should upgrade to table service for $11 a day per person? We are there for 7 days.

We always book the dining with table service. You can't eat one TS meal there for $11.00 per person, so I say do it! You can always book a character meal (or several) to use as your TS meals if you want.

Is it really $11? I got the free quick dining and upgraded for $10. But either way, I think it's worth it. :)

Yes. There is no way I could eat only counter service at WDW for 7 days. The counter service options (except at Epcot) are pretty limited for lunch and dinner. There are a ton of good TS restaurants. We do 1 TS a day.

That's great! I would try and upgrade - you have so many more options with Table service meals, and some of them offer really unique experiences. I think if I was there for 7 days, I would want a bit more variety. :)

How much does free dining cost and how do you get it? I feel so out of the loop but I've never bothered to look it up!

Thanks everyone! I think we are going to do the upgrade. It just makes more sense and it is much more of a variety!

Free dining is well, free, but you have to book a package. The package I booked was 7 nights @ POP, 7 day park hopper tickets, and I got the free dining. You have to be staying at a WDW resort and must be there during certain times. (I'm not sure what thoes exact dates are). The total price for my package was around $1600 for 3 people. Hope that helps, nothnbutherainsir!

I would upgrade for sure! For the price, you really can't beat it. Even if you don't want to have a sit down meal each day, you could use the TS credits at the Signature Restaurants since they require 2 TS credits instead of just 1 TS credit like the rest of the places. Also, since you are there for 7 days, TS will give you additional options. Plus, there are times when you can't find seats for QS places....

Thanks for the info! I was going to book is last year for our honeymoon but I saw it was all booked up that I didn't bothering looking into it more. It's absolutely free?! Can you still book it if you already booked your vacation? I'm not sure my Dad knew about it!

(This is my 100th post! )

You have to be paying rack rate for your room and have no other discounts to get the free dining and you must be staying at least 3 nights and have at least 1 ticket on your plan.

Can you still book it if you already booked your vacation?

Sorry, I missed this part. Yes, you can still get free dining if you already booked. I was already booked and paid for and I called up Tuesday and it took less than 10 minutes for them to add it on and issue me a refund because I was planning to pay for the dining plan.

I upgraded to the regular dining plan...staying at Pop as well for 7 nights in December :) We have two kids and it cost me $168 to upgrade. Well, I calculated how much we are paying per day and it comes out to $24. We could NEVER eat at a table service restaurant for 4 people for 24 dollars a day, so I think it's an amazing deal!!!

For anyone not sure of how much it costs to upgrade...it's $10/per day/per adult and $2/per day/per child.

I don't see us eating CS meals the whole time we are there, so it is a great deal for us to upgrade!!!

Thanks! That was loads of help!

Did the CS only in January & liked it better!!! It was great not having to be so aware of the time & reservations, etc. You do have to look for restaurants that have more healthy (not just fried food) to eat. My husband was very worried that we wouldn't be able to do 5 days of it-but we had soups & salads-not just burgers. You also don't have to leave tips w/ CS dining whereas if you do TS you need to leave a tip-just make sure if you switch you fund for it!
