Just booked PORFQ for August! SUper excited, this is our first trip to disney, any advice is much appreciated. We have a 6 yo and 5 yo boys! Now off to find flights!

Start looking into dinner reservations ASAP, whether or not you're on the meal plan.

Already have ADR, how busy is August??? We arrove on the 15 or 16th

We'll be there from the 13th to the 19th, for the first time in 19 years. So I'm NOT the right person to ask!

But according to the "Unofficial Guide website, the days we'll be there rank 7's and 8's out of 10 for crowds.

Translation: plan on getting to the parks early, taking an afternoon pool/nap break back at that wonderful pool you have, and get back to the resorts for dinner.

Whoa...I had better drink more coffee after reading the username! We were able to book our flights the other night...using miles from my husband's account....so free airfare this year!

We will also be trying POFQ for the first time in August. I paid off the balance yesterday and requested building 7, third floor. (Yes I know these are requests only) Too bad we will be gone before you arrive.

We stayed at POFQ in 2004, 2005, and 2006- it's an awesome resort! Very quiet & relaxing. Everything is within close walking distance, the food court is great, and the resort is beautiful! Have a great trip!

I'm telling you-once you go through the park gates you will never want to leave!!!!
I went once in October of 2006 and twice last summer all 3 times have been amazing.
I can not wait to go back.

We just booked for August also. Going the week of 8/17. This is our first trip and we are celebrating my ds' 9th birthday.

We are going August 10-19. All of our previous trips have been in September and early December, and we never had to use a touring plan. I guesss that will now change. Have a wonderful time on your trip. WDW is such a magical place for all.

My boys (3 and 5) loved the pool and slide at POFQ!

Best advice: Get to the parks EARLY! Do what you can and then take a break.

And remember to just enjoy yourselves! As long as you are having fun in the moment, it doesn't really matter what you're doing!

I give ALL of you DIS posters who are going in August a high five...I could never go then due to the heat! We were there one time in Sept. and it was so hot we couldn't stand it! The heat and humidity is awful.

Besides that.........remember you are in the land of magic. Take breaks, drink lots of water, and just have a great time.

Congratulations on your first trip! Your kids are at a great age!
