Just booked Vero; two questions

Hi everyone. My wife and I just booked four nights at Vero for Easter Weekend. This will be our first trip away from DS (aged 2 now) and we can't wait to relax (though we'll miss him terribly). So I have two questions, if you don't mind:

1. We booked a Deluxe Inn Ocean View room. Am I correct in thinking that a Studio would not have an Ocean view? We would have liked to sofa in the studio, but would rather have the ocean view. Any other differences? Could I be guaranteed a Studio with an ocean view? In other words, did we make the right decision?

2. Regarding banking points. We have an April use year. This last reservation leaves us with 10 points. I know that the first deadline for banking is Sept, but since there are only 10 points left (ie. less than 25% of total points), can I wait until the January deadline to bank these points? This is what the MS rep. said, and I just want to confirm.

Thanks as usual,
Michael

The oceanview can't be guaranteed with a studio. I'm also not sure how many have an oceanview since you need to be on the higher floors with just the right angle. The Inn room is pretty spectacular. Except for the bedding there aren't any major differences. Because of the style of the Inn building, the rooms tend to be layed out differently depending on the architecture -- the outside balconies also vary in size and whether or not they have an overhang.

The guide told you correctly. As long as 10 points is 25% or less of your total, you'll have until January 31 (or the closest preceeding day that MS is open) to bank them.

You might still get a sofa in your ocean view inn room. We did!

We had 2 queens and a small sitting area with a sofa. It was a sleeper sofa - I checked, LOL, even though we only had 3 in the room. The sofa was next to the kitchenette. The sofa and kitchen area were removed from the bed/bath area. You walked down a short hall to get over there - very nice. We had a wall of windows looking out at the ocean and our balcony/sliding doors overlooked the pool. We also had a small window over the sofa overlooking the Green cabin room deck and croquet lawn. Our room was kind of a dormer with three "outside" walls. Very nice.

Anyway, while you may not get that particular room, I'm sure you will be happy with your inn room!

Best wishes -

It seems that I remember someone posting that a few OVIR exist with a King-sized bed and a sofa. That would be perfect for a couple spending their first weekend away from their child::yes:: I don't know if you could request it from MS ahead of time or take your chances at check-in. Regardless, I think the OVIR are the greatest!

We had an OVIR last month that was nothing like all of you had. We had a solid balcony that was 4' high and a room that seemed like it was at a $50 motel with a kitchenette. 2 double beds and a tiny table with 2 armchairs.

We just got back from VB this Sunday and it was FABULOUS!!!! Now we had an OVIR . . . 2222, right next to the Green Cabin and I was worried that it would be noisy because of the music at night, but the soundproofing is all but perfect. We heard it a little, but not enough for it to be a problem. We had two queen beds and the balance was the usual. Our view was terrific and it was spotlessly clean. I think I'd have been upset with the one description of a $50.00 room and thrilled with the ones who had the sofa bed with the 2 queens (We have a son & daughter who kick each other too much when they share and a 2 bedroom is overkill for 4 people!). I guess I'll need to check that out next time, but VB overall was fantastic.

It was our second trip there and our room was great . . . the staff couldn't have been nicer and the whole experience had us spoiled rotten so when we checked into a hotel in St. Augustine for 2 nights at the end of the trip, a hotel that would have seemed quite nice normally, had me feeling like I was "slumming it!" Three cheers for DVC!!!
