Oh. My. Goodness! When I realized that we could easily do this, I about fainted. So... I just did it! We'll "only" be spending one night there, after having spent the first week at AKL and the second week at the Poly. I just decided to tack a cay on in the suite as a surprise for our anniversary. I'm giddy with excitement! :yay: I feel so blessed!

Has anyone stayed here before? SO and I fell in love with the suite when we first saw the AKL episode of Great Hotels.

I can't wait! :hyper:

Your nite sounds like too much fun! Way to go and make sure you post a trip report and take a lot of pictures!

Wow, that is awesome! My kids saw watched Great Hotels daily before our trip to AKL and were convinced that is what our room would be like. :lmao:

Wow, have a great stay there!! By the way, I think as a suite guest you will be automatically be club level, so you could also add one of the special safari tours offered at AKL!

...wow, how exciting! Just promise to post LOTS of pix on my "Jambo!..." Thread......

Wow ... that is sooooo GREAT !!!!!!!!
Please post lots of pics when you return.

Brilliant - which one is the Royal Assante? I've seen some pics and they look great but can't remember which one is which. How much did they charge you for the one night?

Lucky duck! Yes, please tell us what the cost for one night is. I have always wanted to book a garden suite at the BWI. Back when it was about $550/night....Yikes!

Thanks for all the kind wishes, and I do promise to take plenty o' pics and to post a trip report as soon as I get back.

And to answer your question, Cinderella and pooh6890, it was only... (wait for it!) ...about $2500. For one night. I know. You can say it. Believe me, it's probably nothing I haven't already heard from my friends ("for $2500, they'd have to provide me with my own personal harem for the night" was the only comment I could print here without getting points).

I think it's great! If this is the way you want to spend your money, go for it! And if we get to see some great pictures I won't complain either:rolleyes1

Hey... it may be out of my budget. Okay, wayyyyyy out of my budget, but I would never begrudge you a fabulous night! Way to go. I think we all need to spoil ourselves and our family every now and then. Enjoy!

Wow!! That's great and all...but at that rate...I'd make sure I spent every waking minute of the less than 24 hours in that room!! Crazy...my whole trip for my family of five was $2200!!! Have fun!

Oh, that's pretty much what we're planning on doing. This will come at the end of a two week stint at the World (our first), first week at AKL and the second week at the Poly. So the most we might do is the Sunrise Safari over at DAK. Maybe.

I hope you have a wonderful stay! Please be sure to write a trip report when you return. It will be such fun to hear about your experiences. :thumbsup2

Our family LOVED the Royal Asante Suite! :goodvibes The second bedroom is way down a long hallway (interior). You'll have complete privacy in the master bedroom. ;) I loved soaking in the tub and turning the shades just enough to peek out at the animals in the savannah while not giving a peep show. KWIM? You'll have a full size fridge, but they don't stock drinks in them like some other resorts do. I'm hoping they've changed that, but I don't think they have.

I have pictures of it on my albums. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/482859625jXnGCV

Let me know if you have any questions.

Joey in the lounge and all the folks in IPO are sweethearts. They ALWAYS take care of us when we're visiting. DO book one of either sunrise or sunset safari. They are definitely worth it. We'll probably repeat sunrise because we liked it so much.

P.S. - Don't forget to ring the doorbell at least once. ;)

Wow, amazing pics! The grounds of this resort are so amazing....having a room like this would make it a truly "magical" stay. :)
