We have sailed carnival over 15 times and Disney twice. I only remember 2 Royal Caribbean cruises as am adult....and the most recent was 3 years ago on a smaller ship. We just booked the Oasis for June 2015. Deck 10. We plan to do WDW the week before. I am very excited! We are going with another family. We both have 8 year old boys and 5 year old girls. It is a dream work cruise. Do we need autograph books? Costumes? Our girls love all the barbie movies and have dresses from them all! Can my hubs bring on any liquor? What are must buy packages, or anything you think I need to know!!!

I'm not sure about costumes, but you can bring autograph books. I don't recall seeing any children dress up, not like on a Disney Cruise.

You can bring 2 bottles of wine per stateroom. No hard liquor. I highly suggest purchasing one of the drink packages. They will save you money.

The Oasis has the dream works characters, and most of the signature items are hand stamps on napkins, or that's is what I have seen noted on other message boards. They have dream works parades, and character meals.

You will have loads of Disney signature opportunities in WDW, the kids will have a hoot!

On the Oasis, you are allowed 2 bottles of wine 750 mls. If you drink more than 5 drinks every day, the booze packages are worth it, if not, skip the booze packages, and pay a la carte. If the kids are pop drinkers, then the pop package is a good idea. Buy them on-board, so you don't gave your money to the cruise line early, you pay when you order them.

Best of all have fun!,,

You will want to book/reserve your entertainment and specialty dining ahead of time. Don't wait until you get onboard. I didn't love the shows and didn't find them all that entertaining for my kids. They were 4 and 6 when we went on Oasis. It was a great cruise and we would definitely book Oasis or Allure again. Lots of activities and lots of fun things for all ages. There's an old trip report called Shrek vs Mickey that was very helpful. It was an Allure trip but close enough for me. Definitely take advantage of the boardwalk carnival with free face painting and activities for the younger kids or rock climbing for the older kids :) have fun!!!!! If you usually buy the photo cd I think it might cost less to order it ahead of time. Not sure but I think that's how it worked.
