Just booked rental car (full-size crossover) through Alamo

I rented a full-size crossover (Dodge Journey or similar) through alamo...total with taxes was $344. (GRR MAKE THAT $376!..had wrong drop off location!) This was with logging in to my alamo insiders account, but I did not use and coupon codes or discounts....so hoping something good comes along. Was hoping to be under $300 for the week. Renting from Oct. 1-8. Anyone know of any good deals? I have never rented before, so not sure what kind of price this is, but assuming I should be able to do a little better once the date gets closer.

Also, we don't have regular credit cards, use debit for everything. Alamo's site shows this is fine with proof of flight info...is this all they need, or do they do credit checks? I am find with showing them my flight tickets!

Check Mousesavers.com they have some codes on there that may bring that price down. As far as the card..they will want a real credit card not a debit card. I have heard that if you go to your bank they can issue you a secure prepaid card that can be used towards a rental car. Just check with your bank teller they will know what you are talking about...

Alamo is fine with a Debit Card. They're pretty much the most reasonable, no deposit beyond the cost of the rental IIRC. They have the right to do a credit check in their rental agreement, but I don't actually know if they do them or not.

I've rented through Alamo before with a debit card with absolutely no problems. No credit check and no deposit. There was another thread about this subject. A few days ago. You'll be fine!
