I just got off the phone from booking Randy Chapman for our Valentines Day '08 wedding!!!!:yay: I'm sooo excited!! Our intimate ceremony is at 10 am at Yacht Club.. can anyone give me any insight on what will kinda be happening with the photography? I know he'll shoot the wedding/cake cutting.. but after that (we have him for 3 hours) what will we be doing? I'm assuming the wedding stuff takes about an hour.. but the other two hours will we just go wherever to shoot pictures? Do I get to pick where i get to shoot photos? Does he have certain places he likes to shoot? What are some nice places that you would recommend getting photographed at? His package info. says "150 or more photos" so how many did you guys end up getting? Any information you think is useful please let me know! THANKS:goodvibes

For my 3 hours I did the following:

Randy came to my hotel room and shot me and DH getting ready- Wilderness Lodge

He then met us at SBP(Boardwalk) to shoot the ceremony. Afterwards we took quite a few photos around SBP-- some with Mickey & Minnie, and quite a few photos on the grounds of the Boardwalk

DH and I then took the limo and met him over at the GF for photos on the grounds there. We spent the remainder of the time there shooting.

I had emailed Randy prior to coming to Orlando to make sure everything was okay with our plan. He agree'd and everything was perfect! I couldnt have asked for more. Some of my photos are on the other Randy Chapman thread going right now.

We used our entire 3 hours and it having him was more than worth it!!

I wouldn't worry about filling in the time. You will be doing prewedding pics, the wedding, reception pics, and pics of you and your df after the wedding. Also as for the locations, he seems rather flexible. I would imagine it depends on exactly where, and how many places, you want your pics at. For me, he will be coming to the WL for prewedding pics.

Maggie,
I was just thinking as I posted my response, "I bet Maggie has already posted a response." As it showed that my comment had been posted, low and behold there you are. :lmao:

i was just reading the other post.. and saw your pics on there Maggimus.. they're GORGEOUS, i LOVE the pic of you walking into the water!.. makes me even more happy i booked Randy!! i love his style of photography! I can't believe he gives you that big of an album!! DEFINATLY worth the money then! I'm happy to hear that he'll shoot me getting ready! Thanks girls! :thumbsup2

We're getting married at YC as well. Randy will arrive just prior to the wedding (to take "me getting ready" pics), then shoot the ceremony, the champagne toast/cake, and the traditional family pics (I'm bringing a specific list of names on who will be in what photos to make sure this doesn't run too long). Since I suspected we'd have more time left over, I stole a page from Maggimus' book (at this point, who hasn't?? She gives such great advice!) and asked Randy if we could squeeze in more photos afterward.

Originally we wanted to go to the GF to get some shots (because at my heart I want to be *just like* Maggimus :rotfl:), but that was too far for us to go and still meet our guests in a timely manner for our lunch "reception" at Downtown Disney. I talked it over with Randy, and we decided together to walk over to the Boardwalk and get some final shots there.

Thanks girls for all the nice compliments. Randy was literally the absolute best choice i made in the entire wedding planning process (other than choosing Shane as my husband ofcourse). You will be very pleased!!:dance3:

I have booked randy for my september wedding at Wilderness Lodge, I dont want any getting ready photos, so he's going to shoot me arriving in the limo, the ceremony and cake reception, then photos with our family in the grounds and WL, we should then have about an hour left so he suggested going to GF for some beach photos, he has agreed to exactly what i wanted.
By the way i know this is a strange question but Randy has said he will try and get our album to us before we leave orlando so i wanted to know how much weighed, dont want a problem getting it on the plane

great idea - I worry so much about the weight issue. I'd really want it in my hand luggage if poss - but then probably wouldn't have any weight left for books etc on the flight home!

I dont see why you couldnt just carry it on? It will depend on the amount of photos he takes and whatnot. Just carry it on and store it in the overhead. Or put it in a carry on bag. It will come in a box and would easily fit in a normal size tote bag. GL:thumbsup2

the maximum carry-on weight is 5kg on our flight, and it's usually very strictly enforced, so hope it's not too heavy as I like my reading materials as well for the 9+ hour flight!

im not sure :confused3

it is in a hard box-- and it is also in its album-- can you leave room in your bag to put it in checked luggage?
