we have 62,000 miles getting ready to expire by September, just have not been able to arrange flights that work out for us...anyway, since every 12,500 miles is equivalent to $100, we decided to book 4 nights at POP. I know that I can do %15 better by using AAA, or I can gamble and wait for a code since we are going in August, but we need to use up these miles so, POP here we come! The best part? Now our cash flow for the remaining 5 nights is free to get us closer to the POLY! 
We are deciding between there and The Dolphin...looking at a $750 difference between the 2 over 5 nights, so as much as we'd LOVE to spend our anniv at the Poly, it is basically our airfare to bump up...and we DO love the Dolphin....YAY...this is looking like it's going to happen...getting excited!
BTW...I have 3 days to cancel without penalty, if anyone has any advice or reasons for us to not book thru AA, please let me know...if there was a direct flight that was out there for $200 or more, thtat is technically a better "use" of our miles, but like I said, they are going to expire so.....
