Greetings to all.

I am pretty new to the chat boards but when speaking to a friend about my recently booked trip she directed me here. I was told that Disney folk are some of the friendliest, helpful and inciteful people around. No trip would be complete without some good advice. Just looking over past messages i can tell there are some very knowledgeable Disney fans out there.

I just reserved January 5- 13 @ All Stars Music for my wonderful wife and myself. She is so excited about it as am I but she doesnt share the same anxieties as I do. I now have all this time to be happily stressed out about whether I'm making the right decisions. Is this a good time to go? Will the All stars be good enough or do i need to dig deeper and stay @ a moderate? Will there be heavy crowds, lots of kids ( i do enjoy kids, really, but...) cut back hours etc. OR do I have nothing to worry about ?

Thanks for your ears (eyes).

That's a pretty good time to go, I think. Keep in mind, there is the potential for it to be very cold then, though. You may not want to hang out at the pool or anything.
All Stars is just fine, if you are big (literally, lol!) on themes. There are a lot of families there, but in my experiences everyone has had a good time.
Have fun!

Hi!

My family is going to WDW around the same time - Jan 9-14th. Just be aware that is the Disney Marathon weekend (and the reason we're going). Crowds are supposedly a little bigger over the weekend, but this will be my first time during this event. I'm sure someone else can advise about crowd size.

I've visited in Feb before. The hours are shorter than July, but the crowds have been less. It was actually nice to walk around in jeans and a sweat shirt and be comfortable, rather than sweating tons!

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't worry too much. Disney is FUN and offers different aspects during differernt seasons. The info and posters on this board will give you tons of help!

Enjoy your trip.

Welcome to the Dis Boards!!! And congratulations on your upcoming trip. As far as the weather goes, remember, cold is a relative thing. Cold for someone in Florida is quite nice for us up here in the NE. We went in late Oct one year and they had a cold snap....about 50ish. The Floridians were shivering but we were very happy. And the pools are heated, but it does get chilly when you get out!! Crowds will be lessened to some degree.
There is nothing better in the whole entire world than planning a trip to WDW. We leave next week and I'm already wondering what I'm going to do for fun on Aug 24!!!!

Chip Endale, Welcome to the Dis Boards. There is a world of knowledge on these boards. You will have a wonderful time wherever you stay.

If you plan on spending most of your time in the parks the All Stars is a wonderful resort. Transporation is good and the price is right.

I have never stayed at the All Stars, but my children love this resort, and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

If you plan on spending lots of time at the resort you may want to up-grade, but
the All Star is a Magical, Whimsical Resort. Pure Disney!

You could always visit a few resorts while your there, to check them out for your next trip. :)

Welcome to the boards... January is a good time to travel.

Have fun planning and if you would like to add a countdown timer to the bottom of your posts ~ here is the link to get one...

Thanks for the replies.
Like i mentioned we're staying at ASMu, which building should i request? Somewhat quiet and not too far from exit, food etc. Also where are the ice machines?

Thanks.
