Just booked my cruise - Q- Dining at Palo's alone

Ive just booked my cruise with DU...I am so excited! It is in the middle of my three week vacation.

Itinerary looks like this ( from 23rd October)

5 nites Boardwalk Villas
2 nites Portofino Bay
4 nites Grand Floridian
3 nite DCL Wonder
5 nite Beach Club Villas
2 nite Hard Rock

All above are now booked Yipee

My question. It is just me and my two little boys aged 6 and 9 on vacation. Did similar last year but no cruise.

I plan to go for the early family dinner and then maybe make a reservation for Palo's for later when the kids will no doubt happily go back to the kids club.

Will I look sad eating at Palo's on my own? My DH is a business man and has to work so I do tend to go on vacation on my own with my boys but I have never eaten alone

What do you think ??

First let me say WOW! Are you lucky, theree weeks of Disney! Now about Palo, I say go for it. I have heard of other parents on this board dining solo and I don't think anyone would be feeling sorry for you. And you definatly won't be looking sad while your munching on your chocolate souffle. Please don't miss out on a terrific dinner because you might have a little fear of eating alone, you'll be fine. enjoy!

I Recently Went On A Cruise With My 2 Children. I Did Dine At Palo's Alone. I Did Both The Brunch And Dinner. I Was Alittle Apprehensive About It At First But Soon Felt Very Relaxed. My Server Went Out Of Her Way To Make Me Feel Comfortable. She Checked On Me Frequently And Chatted With Me Every Moment She Could. I Requested Her For My Other Reservation There. I Very Much Enjoyed BRUNCH More So Than Dinner. The Atmosphere Was A Bit More Relaxed And The View Was Beautiful. I Am Very Glad I Did Not Skip Palo's. Do Not Miss Out Because You Are Not Vacationing With Another Adult. Sign Up For Both Brunch And Dinner. Try The Bruncj First And Decide If You Will Feel Comfortable Enough To Have Dinner There. Also You Never Know If You Will Meet Another Parent Wanting To Try Palo's. Another Idea Is Go To The Cruise Meet Board And Try Posting There To See If There Are Any Other Parents Traveling Alone With Their Children. Whatever You Decide I Hope You Have A Great Time On Your Cruise !!!

Definitely go the the Cruise Meet board and check out your sailing. They are lots of single moms who cruise with their kids who would probably like a friend to eat with at Palo's. On our cruise a group from the cruise meet board planned a brunch together. Some singles and some couples in the group. They were seated right beside our family group and we all had a ball.

Definitely don't miss out on Palo because your DH isn't on the cruise. Another option is to check with the Palo's reservations to see if they have taken a reservation for another single lady whom they could contact to see if she would like a table mate.
