Just booked last three nights at GF - Now ????

Hi. I've been debating for several weeks now where to stay on the last three nights of our 10th Anniversary trip. I posted a poll which you fine people suggested GF - well, I took the expensive plunge this morning and booked a garden view room with AAA discount at 359.92 with tax a night. So our trip will now be 4 nights at BWV 1bdroom then to GF for the weekend! (11/28 -12/5) I am sooooo excited!

When I called CRO I asked for Contemporary Tower - Nothing available. The cm said to check back that they may be blocking rooms for referbishment! I wouldn't want to stay during refurbishment anyway, so I asked about GF.

So what is not to be missed at the GF? Traveling will be me, my dh, ds19, dd8 & dd6. I absolutely love Christmas. We are pretty simple people. Will we feel out of place in this "swank" hotel? My dh was joking about pretending to be Larry the Cable Guy and trying to lick the gingerbread house! So if you see a goofy southern family; that would be us!

Believe me, you won't be out of place. All sorts of people stay there, and they all looked pretty casual to me. Plenty of jeans, t-shirts, cargo pants, etc.

Enjoy the GF... we did! We were among the very casually dressed (jeans, sweatshirts, a variety of Disney-themed Christmas hats). Yet there were also groups of ladies from the Red Hat Society (very spiffy!) and even a to-die-for elegant wedding party. To me, no one was out of place.

I had expected we might feel differently but were pleasantly surprised! Beautiful grounds and pools, great monorail location, lovely garden view rooms. The Gingerbread House is unbelievable (they even sell those chocolate-dipped gingerbread "shingles" for snacking). We also did afternoon tea which was a highlight for my girls. Would go back again in a heartbeat!
