Just booked our RT flight on JetBlue (EWR to MCO) and paid more than I've ever paid for a flight down. $250 RT per person including taxes/fees.

Granted, we have never travelled the first week of April before. Is this fare pretty much what I should have expected? TIA

Airfares have been heading up for awhile now. Add to that the huge increase in gas and you have some high airfares. I know that I was going to fly down in April but changed my mind when I saw the fares...they were close to $400 pp, but it was late April. I guess spring break, school vacations all impact the fares at that time of year.
Right now, if I can fly from Boston to MCO for under $250, I'm a happy camper. If I luck out and get something less than $200...well, I get down on my knees and thank the airline gods!!!

I'm pretty sure your dates were released the same time ours were, we're flying from Newark to MCO on JetBlue Feb. 28, returning March 7. I booked the same day the fares came out (Sept. 21) and the two of us are flying for $188.80 each, RT. With the discount carriers such as JetBlue, AirTran and SouthWest I've found that you have to jump on the rate early, especially for early March flights as that's a busy travel time. We flew out of PHL this Oct on AirTran for $118.80 each and we got them on the day they were released. These rates may be a thing of the past with fuel prices being what they are, but it's probably smart to check your carrier of choice daily as soon as you know your dates.

Check Continential to see what they would get for the same dates.

You're probably right. I guess I got used to "holding out" for fare drops. I'll have to look into booking fares sooner. I don't always book my trips as far in advance as they release the fares, but I may need to start planning all phases of travel sooner so that I can.

P.S. Continental fares on those dates were substantially higher than JetBlue, the several times that I checked over the last 8 weeks, which is why I went ahead and purchased tix on JB.

We too are flying EWR-MCO on Jetblue the first week of April. I just booked my tickets last night and they cost $99 one way and $129 one way per person. So $229 for roundtrip is not soo bad! I was looking for an $89 each way.
Either way - I'm so happy to be going back to WDW!! :)

That's exactly what it cost us (maybe we'll see each other on one of the flights, lol). After taxes/fees it ended up $250 pp.

Anyhoo, totally agree that we're just glad we're getting down for a vacation. In the meantime, I'll be dreaming of that Florida sun :cutie:

I would have loved $250 rt. We are travelling 4/18-4/26 (NY spring break) out of JFK. Jet Blue wanted $299(cheapest) on the 18th and $399 on the
26th. Thats $698rt. My dates are not flexible because we are going on a cruise. I winded up booking with Southwest out of MacArthur and we are paying $295 rt. Less than JB's one way. JB just lost a customer

Our spring break is the week heading into Easter (3/17-3/21) and we're cruising as well. I booked Jetblue JFK/MCO because I could not get a decent fare out of EWR and I had a credit. With the credit, our price was about $260per person r/t. I have checked every day since I bought them and the prices have gone through the roof so I'm glad I bought when I did. Continental was always much more for those dates.

Oh, and even though our cruise comes back in on Easter Sunday, I had to wait until Monday to fly home in order to get a decent fare. So we're hitting WDW that day to meet friends who are vacationing the following week.
