Just booked for March

Despite the fact that I go to DLRP in 2 weeks (wow, didn't realise that until now) I got the bad case of itchy mouse and went and booked another trip to DLRP for March. Long story short, expedia had a good deal on the Cheyenne (£56 a night!!) and I've never stayed in a Disney hotel sooo.........
Just have to convince my new boss (who I haven't even met yet!) to give me time off - perhaps I'll say I'm going to see some old friends!

What is it like in March (I'm going 10th - 13th) Any school holidays then (I'm hoping half term is February!)

We go in February half term and there shouldnt be any british school holidays at the time you go but not sure about other countries.

You will have a fab time anyway.

I don't think they will be any holidays as it is just a couple of weeks before the easter holidays.

We're doing our first trip in March and chose the same dates because I couldn't find any school hol dates then so we're hoping it will be quieter (although the 10 and 11 will be busier because of the weekend).

We are going for the 1st time, 7th - 10th I am expecting cold weather. If it turns to be a little warmer, that will be a bonus! As far as crowds I have no idea what to expect.

We have gone twice in March the first year we only wore jeans once. A couple days in was in the high 80s. Last year it was a little cooler but we were able to wear shorts and tank tops. At night it got chilly. We are going March 6-14.

March is cold, in 04 it was bitterly cold with sleet, freezing rain and snow it was quite unpleasant, this year it was cold but dry and sunny so with warm clothes and plenty of stops for hot drinks and snacks it was really enjoyable. We arrived on a weekend last time and I vowed never to go again on a weekend it was very busy, but quietened down again mid week.

I had read before our trip that all the hotels were fully booked, due I suppose to all the special offers, and I hastily prebooked all our restaurants, but with the exception of Cafe Mickey, which always seems to be packed and the Lucky Nugget, I think we probably would've been able to eat in our other choices without a reservation.

Are you talking about DLP in March!! I never realised it could get so hot in Paris in March. Now WDW is a different story.

I'm afraid there is a fair risk that the castle will be a work in progress or so, for the big anniversary celebrations...

Apart from the characters going on top of the spires are they taking the opportunity to repaint/regild the castle ?

I had been dithering about booking another Jan/Feb or March trip, but I think we're definately going to hold off until a little later, June maybe so that we catch the new rides at WDS too.

I'm still hoping that because its not been advertised as closed it isn't going to be covered up. I would be very disapointed but my daughter would be completely devastated!

At the moment we have only paid a deposit and are due to pay the balance at the begining of January.
I'm thinking it would be a good idea to ring in the next few days so we know what will be happening and can make an informed decision about whether to change our booking or not.
We are telling the kids over christmas so need to have decided before then. I just don't want to ruin the magic of our first trip by not being able to see the castle!

When I booked I rang Disney direct on 08705 030303. Is this the right number to ring to ask or is there a better one to use?

Wow, popular thread. Thanks for all the info. Good to know that there is no school holidays then. I like kids but I couldn’t eat a whole one!!!!
I did think about the potential of the castle being boarded up, but I’m not too concerned. I suppose if it was my first trip (I do understand your concerns Raci – it’s just not the same without seeing the castle) I would be, but I just see it as an opportunity to photograph the birthday preparations if it is (plus it would make my BTM park view photo look interesting). Plus I’m going again in June (I fear this is becoming an obsession) so I’ll see it looking all pretty then. And in December when I go in 12 days – whooooooo.
Besides, lets be honest, I’m going on my own so I’m going to live in Pirates so it’ll be a case of castle? What castle?

I think the best number would be Guest Relations on 0033 1 60 30 60 53 (this is the English line apparently!) If anyone knows better, please correct me!!
