Hey we just booked for August and the wife is super excited. Is anyone else going to be there around that time. 14th through 19th.

Cool !! Ya'll can celebrate our slightly belated wedding anniversary while ya'll are there !

We'll be there from August 14 to 28. I's our 30th anniversary. We have a full hook reserved.::MinnieMopluto::smickey:

Thanks. I've already started making my list. You can never be too prepared. Of course, this does drive my husband crazy. I guess that's why he's in charge of the mechanical end and I'm in charge of everything else.:tinker:

If everything goes as planned, we'll be there the end of September, but I just wanted to join your celebration of being there in August.:cheer2:

(Not trying to demean your intelligence, but be prepared for HOT weather!)

You are right, it is hot in August. We were at The Fort in December the last 2 years, but prior to that, we always went in August. Our youngest daughter was a swimmer and she only had 1 week off a year and that was August. Also, we live in Maryland and it is usually just as hot in Maryland as Florida in August. So, if I'm going to be hot, I might as well enjoy myself. Besides, we don't do that parks in the afternoon. That would just be crazy. We go in the morning and the evenings. We don't have little ones, so staying out late isn't a problem. We're thinking about moving to Florida in about a year, so we might as well get used to it. The move would be to get away from Maryland yucky winters and not to retire. If we are going to start over, Florida seems like a good choice. Nothing like going to The Fort more often.:mickeyjum

Sounds like you got it all worked out!:thumbsup2 I grew up just north of Orlando and moved to TN when I was 20. TN winters are bad enough and I have no desire to handle more than that. Honestly, the snow and cold doesn't bother me as much as the gloominess does. I can take freezing temperatures, just give me some sunshine.:) As far as hot weather, I think TN gives FL a run for its money most of the time, but we usually get a break from the humidity a couple of months out of the year.

My sister lives in Nashville and she said she wouldn't move back to Maryland. The problem with Maryland is that we usually get the cold rain in the winter. This years was great because we got snow, and lots of it. I think if it's going to be cold, it may as well snow and not rain. Like you said, the gloominess of it.:tinker:
