just booked flights for febuary, £470.00 for 2, american airlines from manchester via chicago (doritos/tesco offer).my question is does anybody know what kind of plane it is re: seatback tvs ect.

Hi Balloonman

From what I've read on the adverts/billboards all the planes have better seat pitch than BA/Virgin and yes TV's on back of seat - however you never know what the small print says or any disclaimers.

Sorry I couldn't help "officially"

Hi Balloonman

Do you know what size of plane you will be on?
We flew American to Chicago this year (and then onto Detroit ,not WDW!!) in a 777.

We were really impressed having travelled Monarch, Britannia and Virgin to Orlando. They have removed seats giving much more seat width(good for me!) and more leg room(good for DH!)
Service was excellent, food was surprisingly good for an airplane.
We had seatback TV's with a choice of about 10 tv stations and various music choices.

Would definately fly American again out of choice.

Just checked the AA website, they list the plane types as 763 for the MAN - CHICAGO leg and an S80 for the trip to Orlando. Unfortunatley, there is no explanation of what these planes are and I do not recognise them. You could always give AA a ring.

We flew with AA to Raleigh on a 777 and we will be flying AA 777 again to Miami. Seat back TV's are certainly installed on these planes, and the extra couple of inches of legroom on AA makes a massive difference to the comfort level of my 6'4" frame.
