Have booked some flights today - 9/11 to 22/11 - Expedia/Delta Airlines via Atlanta - £575 for 2 seemed like a good deal.

Now need to sort out some accomodation. I have ordered an Entertainment Book. I know it will run out before we go but I believe that the hotel bit runs to the end of the year. Anyway I preordered next years as well and got a $5 discount so the total was only $10 for this one.

How does it actually work? Do you need an ID no. or anything to book? Can you do this through a website or do you need to ring?
I am particularly interested in booking one of the Universal hotels for at least part of the trip.

Can some expert out there help me please?

We have the book and have never really found it that much help you can get some really good deals from the net, or you have the choice of a villa very cost effictive we have always found.

Flight price seems alittle heavy to me given the time of year and the fact it is indirect, we have just paid 550 pounds to fly virgin in the summer holidays infact the last three weeks.

Enjoy you holiday, and have fun

We have used the entertainment card for a number of years, not only do you get the hotel discounts (like the Howard Johnson at St Pete beach for $45 and a guy at the desk was asking for the best room rate and was told $75)but many discounts for resturants and theme parks but you need to shop around on the internet as well.We have just booked the Holiday inn select at Dallas Fort Worth with the entertainment card at a cost of $55 but we found the same rate on the net so I asked what the differance was and they said we would get upgraded rooms with the card

benny2bunny - £225 per person for Virgin sounds a fantastic deal - I couldn't find anything less than £400 for a direct flight so thought that £290 odd indirect was a reasonable deal. For next time where did you get that price?

Mickey_UK - did you ring to use the card? If so do you need a card number or anything when you book or can it wait until you get to the hotel? It's the 'how to use it' tips that I'm really after please.

I think this is the most we have ever paid to go to Florida, we do usual go out of peak season, i do spend some time checking the net, and phoning round see what is about and then bater the travel agents are on good commssions and alot if you book in advance have the cheaper tickets, if I am quoted 350 the next company I phone I will knock off 25/50 and tell them it is the cheapest price, most of the time it works some just say if you have got it that cheap book it and I know I have pushed my luck, we usually only fly Virgin or BA and only direct, I prefer Virgin we went 1 st Sept 2001 for 6 weeks and I paid 902 pounds for three os us which I thought was alittle pricey. Virgin travel store usual match prices as do travelcity, but it is just a case of being confident. I do the same with my car hire I usual find www.skycars.com are the cheapest and they match prices, I phone round a couple get a general quote and then see who will do the best deal, we never have a small car but only pay a small car price. This is the first Fly drive price I have had it includes all my insurance and a full size car plus my virgin airtickets.

Sorry I thought your post said 590, not 290 I guess 290 isn't to bad, still wouldn't fancy the stop although my hubby say's it is sometimes better as you go straight through once you get to Orlando/Sanford or where ever if you have stopped at another US airport.

The hotel scheme I haven't really used much, I have always found the same sort of deals on the net, we did have 2/3 diffrent cards giving us cheap hotel accom, but usual went for a villa unless we were on the more.

Yes I called on the phone, you say you have the entertainment card what is your best rate (we got the price on the net of $55 +tax
We were hoping they would beat the internet rate, they said no but the entertainment card gets you a free upgraded room.We also used the card for 2 for 1 meals in and around Naples in May this year and got some very good deals
