:woohoo:We just booked our week at the Fort for Christmas, with a request for the 1500 loop and the 3 daughters don't know anyything about it!! It's a surprise!!! They think we can't go until next year, but we are sprinkling some Pixie Dust and going for Christmas!! So excited hope I can keep my big mouth shut!!!:yay::rotfl::rotfl2::cool1:

When and how are you going to tell them? I love surprise trips.:santa: especially for Christmas!

We aren't telling our two DD's (3&4) either. We are just telling them we are going on a camping trip and let them figure out where they are as we pull in. Definitely a video tape moment.

Have fun!

Lucky girls. Let us know when you spill the beans, I'd make it until tomorrow. :mic:

We are telling them that we are gonna spend Christmas in South Carolina with my DH family but it's gonna be a surprise to them as well so this way they won't talk to the other relatives about it and we figure we can keep them in the dark on the drive til we get to GA,my DH also has a brother who lives there, and that's when we figure we will have to tell them where we are really going, and yes I will have the camcorder handy when we tell them!!:rotfl::rotfl2:

We surprised our kids when we took them for the first time in the MH. I made a tote bag for each of the kids and stenciled their names on it. I put coloring books, crayons, games, and whatever was appropriate for each kid. They were 15, 13, and 12. I also put a WDW tshirt in each bag. When the opened the bag, they were really surprised.

That is cool, wish I could keep a secret that well. I already spilled the beans about our trip in November.

Just pack your patience, while it is a great time to be at FW, the parks will be very crowded. We were there a few years ago between Christmas and New Years and it was nuts. Some days the parks were closed by 10am because they reached capacity. Just plan well with fast passes and you will be fine.

I have definately thought about how busy it will be the week of Christmas,:scared1:and normally we would have went at a different time but I work for our local school district:teacher: and this year in our contract we will be off of work mon and tues that week for Christmas and then thurs and fri for new years so the only day we would be required to work is that wed. but our district is going to have everyone take a vacation day so the schools can be shut down the whole week and thus save money in our budget:woohoo::idea:,so for us it's perfect timing and we are going to upgrade to AP's so we can go again next year and not worry about paying for tickets again. It is even more important to me now to take this trip as I am part of all this politacal turmoil that is happeneing now in our state with our Gov. and his bill:sick: so in the future I mite not get so lucky to have this kind of time for vacation so even if we don't see everything and get on every ride we know we will be coming back and can do it then, so don't worry about patience, if MK is too much we park hop somewhere else, if that park is too much we enjoy the Fort, still gonna be trip of a lifetime no matter the crowds.:cloud9::flower3:

You will have a fantastic time. WDW at Christmas is the most magical time to be there. Make sure you see the Osborne Family Lights they are unbelievable. We go almost every night just to see them. Also, if you will be there before Christmas, make sure you go to Epcot and do all the countries. Many of them have their Santa there and we all know that after Christmas Santa goes back to the North Pole. Also, during Christmas Week, there are lots of shows going on at the parks. If you are there for New Years Eve, I would recommend Hollywood Studios. We went there on the recommendation of many cast members. We were told that EPCOT has alot of well partied individuals, to be politically correst. Magic Kingdom has lots of screaming kids. We were told that Hollywood Studios only does fireworks twice a year and they were fantastic. They lasted over 30 minutes. The crowds were unbelievable, but we got out of the park pretty quickly. Also, the parks get filled to compacity on New Years Eve, so you need to pick a park and be there by about 4. Hope this helps. We should be there at Christmas this year too. Can't wait.

I think Disney at Christmas is something everyone should get to experience at least once, so don't get me wrong, I am not trying to tell you it is a bad idea. I was just trying to tell you to be prepared for it.

The first year we did it we figured it would be busy but had no idea it would be that busy. The second year we stayed until mid January and it was great. We rode what we could, didn't worry about the long lines. After the 1st of January it was like someone pulled the fire alarm, the place really cleared out. We walked on all the rides so we got to catch up on what we didn't get to ride.

We will be there in early December so I will put in a good word for you with Chip and Dale. :thumbsup2

Oh Beagles I wasn't trying to sound grumpy just a little background info so everyone could see why we are going for Christmas week that's all.:grouphug:We did see the Osborne lights a couple of years ago and loved it!! Also can't wait to see the campsite decorations which is why I said if too crazy in the parks we will do looping in the Fort, that's just as much fun as the parks to me.:cloud9:I just can't believe we are gonna be so lucky to be there for Christmas and New Years, pich me I must be dreaming!!:santa:
