I just booked the CB yesterday for myself, DH, my mom, and my grandparents (2 rooms) on the YQX/YQS code (dining on one room, not on the other) for Jan 12-17. I had waited until codes came out to book anything because I haven't stayed at any of the mods and am fine to try any of them. However, I had really been looking at POR more and have done NO reasearch on CB! So, what can you tell me about this resort? I've read that it's the LARGEST, so I'm a little concerned about having to walk to tim-buck-to with my grandparents after a day in the park. I think I will request Martinique 25 or Trinidad North 31 - any recommendations? Also, what's your experience with the food court (are refill mugs a bad idea even if you're in a close building?) and transportation?

Any info is appreciated!

Martinique and Trinidad North are 'preferred' buildings - so many people were requesting them, that they make you pay extra now to get them.

Do a search for the CBR FAQ that SafetyMom provides.

I think you will like CBR. It is my fave. It is large, but not unmanegable. You might want to request 'jamaica" It is not a prefered section so they dont charge you extra, yet it is just a short walk from the main public area. You walk across a nice bridge and island which makes for a nice scenic walk.

You might want to check out the links below for more information on CBR. The two locations you are interested in are preferred locations costing extra nightly. If you don't want to pay extra for a preferred location you might want to request Jamaica or Aruba.

I think you'll love CBR! Like the others have said, either Martinique or Trinidad North will be closer to the food court, but Jamaica or Aruba wouldn't be bad either. Difference being the additional cost for the preferred location in Martinique and Trinidad North.

We stayed in Martinique 2549 this April, second floor corner room overlooking the Martinique beach and the lake. GREAT LOCATION! But, we all did buy the refillable mugs, and it was great. What a beautiful resort -- I'd take my mug, fill it with coffee, and walk around the lake as the sun came up -- unbelievable!

Transportation was great -- never waited long for a bus, and the rides weren't very long -- MK was the longest, but still not bad.

But absolutely, look at Safetymom's FAQ and FAQ II for Caribbean Beach. She's got a lot of info there, and many others have added to them. You can get any question answered.

Have a great time!

Thanks for the links! SafetyMom, what a comprehensive, informative thread! Ok -- I know I could have searched for it first -- but part of the fun is saying "I'VE FINALLY BOOKED! CELEBRATE WITH ME! TELL ME ABOUT WHEN YOU WERE THERE!" :goodvibes  :goodvibes

We spent two nights at CBR last week and just loved it! We were given an upgrade to a water view room, and ended up with a gorgeous corner room in Aruba. It was so big and cheery!! It looked right across the lake to Old Port Royale.

We had our own car, so if we were going to the food court, we would usually drive (dh and ds walked it a couple of times too -- they said it took about 5 minutes across the bridge).

The resort was lovely, and all the CMs were very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be staying there again in the future! :)
