We were able to reschedule our COVID canceled trip for February and were lucky enough to get a garden/ pool view studio at BWV. What room request should I put in? We want to be close to the lobby, but would NOT want to overlook the main pool due to noise. I am thinking the group of studios that overlook the front lawn would be a good choice?

If you change your mind about being close to the lobby, I find the rooms at the end of the hallway or overlooking the quiet pool, to have easy walking access to Hollywood Studios.

I agree with this. In addition to being closer to DHS, it is also an easy area to get to and from the bus stop per the walkway from the corner of BWV as circled in yellow on the map below.

To me, the quiet pool views are very nice and some include views of the Tower of Terror in the near distance.

If we book BWV Water/Garden view, we request the quiet pool area.

A couple other examples - this is down the Boardwalk view wing overlooking the "activity lawn". It was quiet and had a nice view. You could also see high fireworks from DHS:

We've also overlooked the main pool and I have to say I did not hate it at all. I was concerned about the noise which did exist in the afternoon but for some reason did not bother me.

This became my set up a couple of days:

Don’t want to hijack the thread but any room request recommendations for a standard view room?

With Pool/garden studio, you might want to request Village Green. That will be the area facing the grassy area between the villas and the inn. They aren't that far from the elevator either.

Is this overlooking the astroturf near the boardwalk, or the other side of the lobby?

Towards the astroturf with a sideways view towards the boardwalk.
I think this is where I am going to request. Touring plans shows those rooms on floors 2-5 as a group of only studios. Do you know if that is correct, or do they alternate with 1 bedrooms?

The rooms closest to the BW itself are 1 bdrms. The Village Green rooms can be a bit noisy if there are any nighttime parties, movies on the lawn, etc - we haven't found it a problem, but some may (we also find BW view "noise" nonintrusive). FYI, the studio next to the lobby verandah (2065), has no balcony privacy, and very little indoor privacy without the drapes fully closed.
Do be aware that only 17% of the P/G views studios are Village Green (28 studios), and they are a very popular request. You might want to add near elevator in case the VG request is unavailable.

As mentioned the pool/garden view there is only studios. The 2nd floor have ginormous balconies but the same tiny 2 chairs and 1 table. We've had one of those once for a night. I'd guess good for kids to run around on with supervision but it felt very exposed to being watched by those on higher floors. Like we had conversations with people higher up who were watching us and when we looked they commented to us about the size of the balcony. That was ok but we definitely were on display! If they came with loungers that would be one thing but they had nothing extra. It sounded cool but ended up feeling odd.

thanks for the visual and info! Yes, I am seeing that most of them overlook the main pool. I chose near the elevator on my online checkin, and I am going to specifically request Village Green, then near the elevator via touring plans fax.

When we were there last Fall, I asked one of the check-in staff for Village Green and was told that was considered Boardwalk view. Everything I've read here says it's P/G. Can anybody confirm?
Thanks!

The studios are pool/garden view. The 1BR's are Boardwalk view. So it depends on which room size you had booked?

If by the "front lawn" you mean Village Green and you are worried about the noise, don't request the Village Green - boat horns, late night traffic, game bells - the Boardwalk View rooms are as noisy or noisier than the pool rooms.

It was Studio. Perhaps the cast member was incorrect? That doesn't happen, does it? ;-)
More likely they were simply all occupied and they didn't want to get into the "I'll switch when one opens up" conversation. BWV isn't good with requests, there are very few Village Green rooms, they are a popular ask, and DVC members can have entitlement issues and treat CMs poorly. So they moved you off that topic with minimal fuss.
