Last year for F & W we stayed at AKV at Jambo and we did enjoy it, but this year we wanted to be closer to Epcot to just enjoy F & W, pool at DVC and BW and BC areas. Could not get BC, went on waitlist and was able to book BWV, preferred view for Oct 4,5,6 and 7. We have never stayed at BW and all I hear about is the long hallways, I need help in requesting an area to be in, quiet, and not too long of a walk to Epcot. Thanks for any help. What else is good or bad about BWV.

Rooms over the "Village Green" have a nice view. This is the area over the Wyland Galleries. You can see the lake and they are fairly close to the lobby. BW is my home resort and our favorite. My only complaint? The parking isn't the best (and, I'm being generous).

Hi! Upper floor and close to the elevator, but that request is made by most of us that stay there.:rotfl2:As TLSnell1981 pointed out the Village green would be great,as we have also found an upper floor Luna Pool view to be quiet at night. Both areas' are closer to the elevator. But remember a request is just that.Try the Village green first:thumbsup2Hope you enjoy the BWV as much as we do:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks for the info. We have handicap parking so it usually works out for us. Plus I don't plan on using the car too much since we will be there only three days and plan on being at the hotel's pool, and at Epcot. Maybe one day at MK, but we will use the bus for that park. I will put in the requests you recommended.

There aren't any handicap spaces at BW. They do offer free valet parking with valid hang tags and/or license plates(handicap)

We have parked in handicap parking before at BW, when we ate dinner at ESPN. The spots are to the left of the resort right before you go over the bridge to the entrance. It is on the villa side of the resort.

The only time we inquired about handicapped parking, at BW? We were told they didn't "really" have it...the parking was too far away. Thus, the reason they offered free valet instead.

The good and bad: We love the BWV and have stayed here at least 20 times since buying in 5 years ago. Bad: we have NEVER, EVER, gotten a request here. This is the worst resort for fulfilling request. Don't get your hopes up that you'll get anything you request and you'll be fine. If I ask for ground floor, I'm on the 4th floor. I asked for pool view and got the pool view for Swan and Dolphin (I should have been specific). I asked to be near my family when booking 2 studios and we were next to jellyrolls and they were next to the tennis court (you have to know the layout for this one, it's bad). It's just easier now to not make any request and when I checkin I look at the map and ask about other rooms. Oh, forgot, one request last year was for a "quiet" room and we were put in a room with the luggage trucks backing up in front of the resort all hours of the night (we did switch that one when we checked in and knew the situation). But, even after all of that, we are BWV owners and do book there at least 3 of our 5 trips a year....:confused3

We have been extremely lucky and have received every room we've requested at BW. (I hope, I didn't just jinx myself.)

ditto :)
mostly we only request, upper floor, near elevators, and get room **29 or **31 on 3rd through 5th floors (studio). we have gotten the same 2 numbers on different floors, in at least two stays annually, over the past many years (it's fun to watch the check-in cms' face when i guess the room # correctly before they say it) :confused3
we've had the main request granted on our 1 and 2bdrm stays (near elevators, for my older parents).
the BWVs are amazing any time of year, but especially during F&WF :lovestruc after a few grey goose slushies, you can just walk (or ferry)back to the resort, pick up ice cream cones and watch one of the BW buskers, try your luck at one of the carny games, then leisurely stroll back to your room....life doesn't get any better than that :cloud9:

That's pretty close to our experience as well. The LAST trip we took was the only trip where we've had any request met, and that was two rooms close to each other (they were right next door) but both reservations were tagged with "sister's cancer recovery celebration trip" and I suspect I got extra pixie dust with four kids under ten, two senior citizens and a note about cancer on the reservation.

But yeah, our high floor request let us discover how convenient it was to get to the pool when you could walk right out to it. Our close to the elevators let us discover the stairway which made the walk to the Boardwalk oh so convenient. We've never had a "horrible" room, but with that one exception, we've never gotten what we wanted.

I feel much better now. I thought maybe it was just me. I'm glad you got the requests you wanted when you really needed them!

I suspect there is a note on my account 'don't bother to meet requests, easy to please.'

Yea, me too. I just figured they have fun with the requests and do their darnest to give us the complete opposite. But we were at the BCV last week and I had done online checkin. When I picked up my folder there was a note on it that said "see request" and I got my exact request. It seems only at the BWV do they mess with me. I'll be back at the BWV in 5 weeks and didn't make ANY request again, but I may call as I like to be near the tennis court.

We requested a room near the elevators and had the very first room after the elevators. We had the pleasure of listening to the whirring of cables all night long.

I didn't request anything last year when DH and I stayed at AKV at Jambo in a studio. When we arrived at 8:30 in the morning and they said the room was realy I should have worried. We were next to the elevator with the stairwell between us and the elevator. We nevered noticed the noise until we returned to the room at 10:00 that nite. We called down to the front desk and with no questions asked they moved us down the hall and even sent up two CM's to help us. So I know what you mean about the elavators.

I've been fairly lucky. When I booked standard view, I requested top floor, across from the bus stop. Usually got 3rd or 4th floor but a good location with fireworks view, one time scored the corner room. Now that boardwalk view is guaranteed, I always book it. I always request top floor and most of the time get 3 or 4, once got 5 and once got 2. I haven't had a room that I considered bad.
