Blue Bayou is for Sunday May 25 at 11:30 for me and ds10. I booked Ariel's Grotto for Tuesday at 11:30 for me, my sil,and our 3 girls. Ds10 didn't want to go to that, but did want a meal with just me and him. He is so sweet!:goodvibes

How big are the portions at BB? I know he will want the ribs. Is it a large portion (I know it comes with 2 sides and salad or soup). I know there is a $4 split plate charge at lunch. And I definitely want to try the cookie dessert. If we don't share I'll get the salmon-how is that?

At Ariel's, I don't know what to get? We are going mainly for the girls. How is the salmon BLT?

I'll definitely be ordering the salmon, then! What about the octadog thing for kids-is it a decent portion? And does anyone know if a child can just get icecream for dessert-she won't eat the other choices.

Any recommendations for Blue Bayou? Are the short ribs enough to share?

I've never had the ribs at BB, but I know Tesoro Island chicken is good, the Prime Rib is good and the Monte Cristo is deep fried heaven on a greasy plate. LOL Seriously, I've never been disappointed with my meals, they've always been good. And HUGE!! Definitely enough to share! Oh ya, the pork chops were really good too!! Make sure you get the potatoes and veggies instead of the spinach, the spinach is good but the potatoes are heaven. :)

At Ariel's I've had the chicken cesear salad, the burger, the pasta and the breakfast. LOL I've never been disappointed with any of them, except the salad, should have more croutons. lol :)

Thanks-I hate to spend $100 and throw food away. I definitely wanted the potatoes-thanks for helping me decide between the veggies and spinach.

The Cajun Tri Tip at BB is off the "hook" as well! :thumbsup2

It has been several years since I ate at Ariels, dont even remember what I had, but I do know my kids got chicken nugget things that were served in a sand pail. My husband had a burger that he loved, but then again, he loves all burgers!

This next trip (halloween weekend), we are going to let the kids each pick a restaurant for lunch, we are going for 3 days, and only have 3 kids going (my DSS is not going this trip unfortunately). My 4yo has chosen Ariels for his lunch pick (he says she is his girl friend, along with Jessica Rabbit, Jasmine, and Babette, do we see a trend, then sexier characters here, although Ariel tops his list!). My oldest son is stuck between RRPP and RBT. We are not doing BB this trip, I dont think, but our final dinner is always at PI on Main Street.

Have a great trip!

Just out of curiosity what is your DS10 doing while you are at Ariel's? Is there someone else with you in the park? Kind of OT, but just made me curious!

This trip includes 16 of us-all my in-laws! So there will be plenty of people around. My mil's sister is actually footing the bill for the trip. She lives in CA, and she is flying her 2 sisters and parts of their families out for 10 days in CA and Vegas.

Portions are generally big. We will split the monte cristo when we go. That said, I had the ribs last time and they were wonderful and I ate every bit and would have licked the plate for that sauce if I could have. Couldn't eat some of the sides and no room for dessert..but those ribs were great.

I keep reading about how great the sandwich is, but it sounds scary to me! Can someone tell me more about it? The ribs sound great-can't wait to try those!

The sandwich is lots of cheese, turkey and ham deep fried and covered with powdered sugar, served with a berry sauce for dipping...Oh.My.GOD. LOL I love it......but it can be greasy and some people can't eat it, it's very rich. DBF and I usually share, he will get the chicken or pork chops and I'll get the MC, we then split the main entree between the 2 of us.

I guess if I'm feeling really adventurous, and we are very hungry, I'll order it and we'll give it a try-with the ribs to fall back on! Sounds like alot of sweet and meat together-not a combination I normally like!
