Just booked to take advantage of the UK free dining at OKW in June - so a new ticker to sort:cool1: Also going to Royal Pacific for 5 nights first.

DD will be 18 just as we move over to Disney - she is thinking she might want to go back to Hoop di Doo for her 18th (been once before about 4 years ago) - will they organise a cake or something - is there any other extras we can arrange for the big day. It will also be DH's 51st while we are there but he is less excited about that!

Also notice that Hoop di Doo is prepay when you book - how does that work when you're on free dining - do you pay in full and then get it recredited back when you get there?

When you book your reservations link your booking and you won't have to pre-pay Hoop.

We are going for my birthday next June and I am going to book a Wishes Cruise on my birthday :goodvibes

Was looking at a Disney cake but that could pay for half my Wishes Cruise ;) so I am going to get one from Publix to have either on the cruise or in the Villa after.

Make sure you get a birthday badge for them on the big day from guest relations.

You can have items delivered to your room, or order a cake but it can be expensive. If you tell your server they normally bring out a cupcake with a candle :)

It will be DS's 18th while we are out there next July. I think we will be celebrating it at the Grand Floridian Cafe, one of our fave meals this year.

We have had a cake made by Disney before - for our wedding anniversary - and although it costs more than one from, say, Walmart we were very impressed with the service and final result.
We originally rang Disney Dining to ask if it was possible to do what we wanted and a chef rang us back to discuss it in more detail. :goodvibes
The cake was then delivered to the boat for our Wishes cruise - although we didn't eat it while on the boat. We waited until we got back to our villa :thumbsup2

Well, unlike most 18th birthdays, she won't be drinking any alcohol!

I found it very odd being there on my 19th unable to have a cocktail!! :rotfl:

Thankfully DS has no interest in alcohol yet. Takes after me, I was 18 or 19 before I went out for my 1st drink. All will probably change when he starts Uni next Sept.

I know - we were thinking of buying some champagne or similar from Manchester Duty Free and taking it with us to drink in our villa on the day.

I was really paranoid about drinking any alcohol there so I just (sadly) accepted it wouldn't happen for that particular trip. I was paranoid that mousekeeping would find an empty cocktail bottle in the room, blame me and we'd be kicked out of the hotel!! Stupid I know :rotfl:

It did feel a little odd though - to be able to have a drink with a meal here from aged 14, then to go to the US and have a birthday meal and not be able to have a glass of wine! I'm not talking about getting trollied, but even at 18, I did enjoy wine with meals.
