Didn't think we were going to be able to make it this Easter. Flights all seemed very expensive - and DS (now 17) didn't seem too keen to come with us. Anyway - DH decided to have one last try to get some flights - and Ocean Florida (anyone used them?) came up with the goods yesterday. Had to twist DS's arm up his back - but he finally gave in :thumbsup2 - and we're off in a little over 8 weeks.

Just ordered Simon's book from Play.com - and getting into planning mode.

So little time - so much to do - great isn't it?

Julie

 :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1:

and just spotted it's my 600th post! - how cool is that??

hello we have booked with ocean floida as well - like you we also had to book for Easter because of school holidays - we booked late as well - my leave dates were confimed late - where are you flying from - did you get direct flights, we couldn't find any anywhere which were n't really expensive so have settled for indirect flights, at a reasonabl price, it 'll all be worth it when we get there ......

AND we also go in a little over 8 weeks

We're flying indirect too - with US Airways. Manchester-Philadelphia-Orlando.

Julie

No idea yet! Have to sort that one out tomorrow. Probably a condo or a villa somewhere off the 192 - maybe Emerald Island or Windsor Palms.

Need to sort some ADRs (if that's what they're called now!) too. Normally I have almost 12 months to do all the planning! :surfweb:

We stayed once at Windsor Palms and really enjoyed it. Stayed in a 2-bed condo. Liked the resort - nice pool area - although it did get a bit crowded some days.

The weather has usually been pretty good for us in April. Occasionally a storm - and very occasionally a coolish day - but mostly hot and sunny. Having never been at any other time oof year - I can't compare it - but I think Jul/Aug would be too hot and humid for us.

There's a very good supermarket not too far away on the 192 - I can't remember the name now - but I'm sure someone will tell us.

We take very little with us - just t-shirts, couple of pairs of shorts, jeans, a fleece and a light waterproof each - and buy loads of stuff over there. We have even stopped taking anything other than travel sizes of tolietries with us - as we buy all that when we get there. Reduces risk of breakage/spillage in the suitcases - and they are cheaper over there too.

:Pinkbounc Getting sooooo excited now! :Pinkbounc

We stay at nearby Indian Creek and the supermarket is a Publix.

April weather is ideal I agree.

Lynne - just sent you a PM
