I just booked a trip for early this summer last week! I already have to book our dining on Tuesday and I haven't even decided which parks to go to on which days!!! We are leaving on Sunday, May 28th and coming home on Saturday, June 3rd. We don't have airfare yet, waiting for Southwest to release flights for those dates. I am thinking about going to DHS on arrival day so that we can get in the rides we like and see Fantasmic. Then we want to spend two full days at MK, a day and a half at Epcot (with Disney Springs one of the Epcot evenings), and one full day at AK. We may also do departure day at AK if the new Pandora area is open by then.

How does this sound? I need to decide on which days for each park next....

I'd determine the park days, then book your ADRs around your plans. Take a peak at crowd calendars...knowing that it might be a crap shoot. Still, you'll have something to work from. With respect to Pandora, Disney says "Summer 2017." Their track record for hitting the the opening earlier rather than later is weak, an early June opening would be a miracle on the order of fishes & loaves. :earsboy:

Sounds good! You could check the hours to see which parks have EMH am/pm, to see which you want to take advantage of or avoid. That is usually how I begin my planning so I can figure out where and when to make ADRs.

However, keep in mind that park hours, including extra magic ones, are probably not accurate this far out. You can try and get an idea of extra hours and regular ones based upon last years info for your trip and current times. Don't look too close to xmas or Thanksgiving though. They add extra hours during these busy times. It won't be that busy during your trip. Good luck

Well, I wanted to do Hollywood Studios on our arrival day, since there isn't a ton of stuff to do there right now... but that day has extra magic hours in the morning. Should I avoid that park?

Where are you staying? Is that Memorial Day weekend? Do you know what time you'll arrive?

We are staying at Pop Century. It is Memorial Day weekend. Should we start our trip later in the week? We are flexible on our arrival day.

If you are flexible, I would avoid Memorial Day Weekend, and come in a few days later at midweek. It is usually cheaper to fly Tues-Thursday anyway, and then you skip people who are traveling around the weekend to take advantage of days off.

I agree, avoiding that weekend would probably be in your favor! Also, as far as the plan you have, I think its a great idea to do DHS on arrival day (regardless of what day that is), and if you do not care about the new nightime things at AK that could be a good thing to do on departure day.

We'll be there May27- June 5 and I can make ADRs tomorrow. I based our days in parks on what was priority to see and do. Epcot has become tradition as our first park on arrival day and my daughter has to eat at Coral Reef so that's our plan. We'll go to each park then have a down day and visit the parks again using park hoppers. Since this is a little longer trip using DVC for the first time, we'll take things a little slower with a 3 yr old and infant in tow.

We've always gone Memorial Day weekend and the crowds haven't been that crazy. I noticed that our last trip that was later in the week, the crowds were much larger even just a few days later into June but that's expected as school let's out.

Hope you have fun! I know we're excited.

We have the same plan! :) Arrive on May 28th and plan to go to HS for the first day. Hope the crowd won't be so bad.

We go about 3x a year and it's been my experience that unless I'm trying to book some ADR that's super hard to get like BOG, Ohana, CRT or Le Cellier most run-of-the-mill ADR's can wait until you've formed your plans. If you want any of those that I mentioned snag those at 180 days but most others should still be available (like 50's Prime Time or Mama Melrose, Garden Grill, Via Napoli etc.) I rarely ever book anything right at 180 days. Of course YMMV but I just wouldn't stress over it too much.

I changed our dates this morning to start our trip on Tuesday, May 30th and end on June 5th.
