1) We are a-travelin'-fools all of a sudden.
. . . did Ireland and Europe lately
. . . did Ohio last month for Great-Granddaughter's birth
. . . doing Hawaii, with Daughters and their hubbies, in mid-November (last minute destination change)
. . . doing a cabin at The Fort in October for Halloween (not on Halloween, though)
. . . doing Ohio for a Great-Granddaughter visit in December (MrsRustyScupper NEEDS to see the kid)
2) Hope to see a few friends at The Fort
3) Will also see if some of the Bluegrass Gang will stop by for an evening or two of jamming

NOTE; Going have to be on the look-out for that American Express collection hit-man. If anyone notices
Guido or Salvatore (with the broken nose), let me know.

Congratulations on being able to do that remarkable amount of travel! And having a great-grandchild is a true blessing. You're setting a fine example for the rest of us to either follow, be envious of, or both!

What dates Scupper? You know I owe you a visit after the last trip.

Congratulations on being able to do that remarkable amount of travel

1) Thanks.
2) But, not remarkable.
3) STILL have over 2-million air-miles left over from prior to retirement.
4) This covers a lot of current travel.

NOTE: Although earning over 4½-million air-miles SOUNDS good, consider
. . . the amount of business travel in order to earn that man miles
. . . the time spent in airport lounges and on airport tarmacs
. . . the time away from home and family

My air miles that were good enough for 3 round trips to New Zealand were reduced in value and I got a couple US flights with them. I felt cheated!

Your travels are inspiring. I need to stop buying things I do not need and travel more myself! Me and my friends need a mini college reunion in Ohio before too long!!

I have a friend who just flew his 3 millionth actual seat mile (not including bonuses etc) with one airline, that's not to mention the other miles he has with other airlines. Couple years ago he gave me one of his first class upgrades as it was going to expire before he could use it.

TheRustySkipper,

I got back from Europe last month too brother (me and DS#2). DS#2 also spent a few days in Ireland (Dublin and Killarney). Between train strikes, Tube strikes, cabby strikes, and remembering to look right first when crossing the street, it was fun but stressful. Even got to do DLP again. I too paid for our airfare with my FF miles but barely had enough to cover those (and I agree, the miles don't make up for the separation).

It sounds like you will just need to keep your packed bags by the door. Don't bother to unpack because it sounds like you will be a travelin' man for a while still.

A cabin at the Fort in the fall is wonderful. I miss those days (but not the bill). Especially if it's crisp and cool at night sitting on the deck...
