Originaly had ressies for POP for DEc9-13 now I just got word that I will be picked up for 3 more classes to teach which means splurge!!! I changed the last 2 nights on our ressies to AKL. This whole trip will be a surprise for DH and DD5 so i am trying to book everything and pay for everything I can ahead of time without using credit cards or any media that DH will see and spoil the surprise.

Questions:
1. I would like to book a massage for DH as a christmas early present. Can I do this and pay ahead of time?
2. we have AP rates on standard pool view. Whatis this like?
3. Is Boma good for breakfast.
4. I visited this hotel once and noticed the smell to the air. Has anyone with Asthma had a problem?

Think that is all for now. Thanks!!!!!

You can get a gift certificate by calling 407.827.4455.

2. we have AP rates on standard pool view. Whatis this like?

You'll have a view of the pool, Depending on the floor you are on, you might have a slight view of the edge of one of the savannah's. AKL is fairly generous in upgrades, but if the hotel is full you'll get what you booked.

3. Is Boma good for breakfast.

One word--SCRUMPTIOUS!

4. I visited this hotel once and noticed the smell to the air. Has anyone with Asthma had a problem?

Nope, and I've stayed there three times :)

My DH has Asthma and he's had no problems with the scent at AKL.

Boma is fantastic for breakfast or dinner IMHO..... yummy!!

I like the pool view- it's not Savannah, but it's not Parking Lot either. You could ask about upgrade availibility when you check in... it couldn't hurt.

I've never done any of the Spa services, but you could probably contact them directly and ask the question....

We'll be there in December too!! Have a great trip......

I stayed at AKL in August and I can answer two of your questions.

3. My sister and I loved Boma for breakfast. We tried some of the African food the first day but stuck with the make to order omlets after that. We tried the counter service place (I can't remember the name of it) but both times the food was cold and not as good as McDonalds.

4. I have asthma and had no problem with the smell. In fact I found it very pleasant.

We also loved Boma for dinner. twice we called from the room and got last minutes PS because we were two tired to go out for dinner. The food changes every night and I especially loved the soup.

If you are a coffee drinker - Boma now has real brewed coffee. The counter service place still had Nescaffe in August.

Make sure you walk the halls to the lookout points. We had a savanah view room and the giraffes were awesome.
