I haven't been with just my daughter, but on our 2009 trip DH spent a lot more time at the resort than DD & I did.
One of our most special times was a GF mommy-daughter tea. DD just loved it. She was only 4 at the time, but I'm pretty sure she would enjoy it just as much at age 10.
Have fun!
My youngest DD(17) and I have been traveling alone since she was 11. That's when her older sister went to college and DH wanted to stay home with the dogs
We always have lots of fun. Pick a resort your comfortable with and have your DD get involved with the planning. Even when she was 11 we would both decide which parks, attractions and ADR's we wanted. I would try to be flexible too depending on crowds, heat and how tired we both were.
I really liked POFQ because of it's small size and DD loves the pool. We also loved our trips to the Poly when my pocketbook would allow.
I have been taking my girls without daddy since they were 2 and 5... they are now 9 and 12. You will have a ball, we love our girls only trips. Not that we don't love daddy, but his idea of vacation is driving to the beach for a week..... this way we get two vacations.
I have been trying to include her in the planning, but seeing how for our last trip she was only 6 she does not remember a lot.
She is actually a little nervous about going without Daddy. daddy isn't going because he is going on his annual fishing trip. This is our first trip anywhere by ourselves. I'm also a little nervous but I feel safe about traveling to Disney. Anywhere else I doubt I would go!
we are staying at Coronado, this will be our 3rd time.
