As you can see by my user name, Im a huge fan of Disney but for a change of scenery we booked a trip to US. Staying at Cabana Bay Beach. Last minute impromptu, cheap trip. Last time we were at Universal I was 6 months pregnant and my daughter is now 15. We did eat at Emerils CW. :cool1: They were building IOA.

So Im a major researcher. Im reading the boards. Trying to get as much info as I can. We have a 4 day base pass. My daughter isnt really into HP so we may skip that all together?? Any helpful hints on where to start, where to go, how to plan?

Thank you. We are getting into vacay mode. Cant wait!!

WWoHP is incredible! Even if you are not a huge fan, don't skip the area. The detail is worth a visit. I would start by looking at the maps on the UO website. Are you staying onsite?

The great thing is that unviersal really does not require the planning that disney does. You are staying at Cabana Bay.You will get early entry but not the express passes, the early entry will help with the Potter stuff .Please don't discount the Harry Potter areas, you can go knowing NOTHING about Potter and still be blown away. Some of the best theming is in those 2 areas. They are defintiely worth a look even if you are not Potter fans, and the rides are definitely worth it. Have an idea of what you want to see in each park ahead of time ( it cuts down on alot of standing around and waiting).Dining does not require reservations, but if you are interested in making any dining ressies, opentable.com allows you to do so.Try some of the stuff you think you might not like..Some of my favorites are things I was convinced I would not be interested in at all
