Oh man, it isn't even funny how bad of a cook I am. I find the best way to mess up any recipe, regardless of what it is. It's a running joke in my family. Some people just aren't meant for the kitchen, and I sure am one of them. I'm sure practice would make my food at least edible :rotfl:

We have, but the problem is where I live we only have street parking and half of the time where I have to park isn't visible from our house, especially in the case of last night. It's part of what has surprised us that it took so long for anything to happen to my car as we've been living here with the same parking for as long as I have had the car (going on 6 years in a couple of months).

I wish I knew why they keep targeting my car. I'm hoping it was just a case of it being so easy to steal and they knew where to get the car since they stole it from in front of our house to begin with (during one of the very few times I actually got to park directly in front of our house). I'm hoping that know that they know we've got some kind of theft prevention in the car they'll stay away for good now, but who knows.

I am sure if you practice you can make some edible food. I love to cook and bake but I have tiny kitchen so it makes it hard to do a lot. I wish we could move to a bigger place.

I hope that they leave your car alone know. Have you heard anything about the finger print of any thing like that.

Good practice will probably have to wait until I'm out on my own before I can give it a go. Partly because my mother has no patience for me in the kitchen (hence why I've enver really learned) and partly (well, mostly) because necessity can make us profficient at just about anything!!

I'm sure keeping my fingers crossed. At any rate, we're getting a kill switch installed soon as soon as I have the money for it and the time to take it down to the place to get installed which would take a couple of hours we were told (plus it's a good hour away). With all the stuff going on I don't have the time.

I'm still wishing I could get a new car, but it's just not a sensible option right now. Darn it all, being fiscally responsible!!

Cooking classess are fun if you have the patience.. but also if you just watch any cooking show on the foodnetwork for an hour you can kinda get the basics down.. it’s not hard jazz.. cooking is easy. Besides I look at it like this. If you can read a recipe then you can cook.. that actually was told to me by my cooking teacher way long time ago when I was learning to make sauces and it really helped me and now I am one of the best cooks in my family . well second to my brother.

 Thanks Michele! I figure it was good enough sleep, especially since I went to bed so darn early! But that's what happens when you get off work at 6:30 in the morning, only to leave for a party a couple of hours later.

Our parties are a lot more subdued than they used to be, but I did walk away with the cutest ornament during our ugly ornament exchange which was pretty darn nice. And my Aunt had us play Christmas Bingo for candy prizes. We don't do gift exchanges anymore except for the little kids (right now there's only 3) although my dad has to buy stuff for everyone regardless.

Otherwise it was just nice to see everyone, listen to Christmas music, and eat good food! My uncle has perfected a candy cane cookie recipe he's been working on for a few years. MMMMMMM. Delicious.

:lmao:

Spreading out the shopping is usually the best way to do it. I try to, but it depends on how early I can find gifts for everyone! I try to do mine all year long and then hope that I don't lose the gifts before Christmas.

Ooh how lucky you got a good ornament. One of Scotty's jobs years ago did that at the company Christmas party. Now I love ornaments so that is right up my avenue.

The Pioneer Woman has one of the best Lasagna recipes ever. Every time I have made it people go crazy for it.

I have to go check that out. I cannot seem to get my sauce to taste the way I want it to.

It's too bad I can't cook worth a darn!! But my family is no stranger to the Pioneer Woman, that's for sure!! ;)

Oh man, so for everyone in the know about my car situation ... They came back for it again!!

Here's how I know ...

I was on my way out to my car this am to go have my usual Monday morning breakfast with Nameless and I get to my car and it was unlocked. Go figure. I know I locked it when I got home from work early Sunday morning. When I look inside the towel I left on my drivers seat was now in the back, there's a strange umbrella that does not belong to me (or my family who currently don't have a key to my car anyway) sitting in the passenger seat, and it smells oddly like cigarettes and something else again.

But hey, at least my car is still here. Looks like that club thing we got for the brake did it's job for now.

I cannot believe that about your car. Unreal. When I told my mom about the umbrella she said it must have been a woman.

With any luck this will discourage them.

It's a fun tradition. The first ornament I got was of a fish that was fishing! My second one was this strange bear made out of wood pieces stacked on one another but it really looked like it was a 'pooh' bear, and I don't mean the one for Christopher Robin's childhood days either. But somehow I talked someone into 'stealing' both of them!! Then I got this semi-cute glittery (which I love) chubby penguin that was skiing. I got to walk away with that one!!

Yeah, well that would fit with the 'woman' the cop saw walk by my car a couple of time when he was parked and watching it. Plus there were womens clothes in the car as well. well, most of it was womens clothing but not all of it. I was a little nervous that if they came back and saw the boot thing they would vandalize my car or something, but if it was them they left it alone. I can't figure why they would leave the umbrella though!! I had to call my family to be 100% sure it wasn't theirs, but like I said, nobody else had keys.

So hopefully this will be the end of it. We'll see.

How's your day been so far?

It has been cold. I didn't want to get out from under my blankets. I should be crocheting, I took on another project, I am making a scarf for Scotty's best friend and I want it done by Friday.

How about yourself?

How long does it normally take you to get a scarf done? That should be enough time, right?

But yeah, it has been cold. At least it hasn't rained here since this morning. I've actually been in and out of my car with the heater on, trying to get it to dry out a little more. It's been raining and damp since we got the car detailed so it's a little moist inside and that's just no good. I already went out for breakfast with my friend, and now I ahve some errands to run and things to do around the house. I'm debating if it's worth the battle at this point to pull out the Christmas tree.

It usually takes be about a week if I dilly dally. And I have been doing that, so I need to get it done before Thursday because I am starting on my long list of errands then.

Have fun with your errands.

Hop to it, lady! I believe in you though. Can you set a chunk of time to work on it and do that while putting a movie or something on?

I know I mentioned that I am doing a deli style meal on Christmas Eve, and I was debating on what we would do about dessert. My friend Marsha came up with a brilliant idea and I am going to go with it. I am getting Pillsbury sugar cookies and pop them in the oven. Serve them while they are still warm with peppermint ice cream. I think it sounds wonderful.

I think I am going to work on it this evening. It is easier to do at night,

Sounds like a plan to me!

Wamr cookies are always the best kind of cookie! My mom has been making a whole bunch lately, but most have been snickerdoodles and I'm not really a fan of them so I've kind of not had too many Holiday cookies lately. Which is probably a good thing, lol.

We have not made any cookies here. I have resisted it. Now I think that I may relent for December 28. My niece is bringing over her almost 2 year old son over for a late holiday meal. I was thinking that I might make ginger bread men. I wish I had a Mickey ginger bread man cookie cutter. He loves Mickey already although he calls him Hot Doggy.

I think you told us bout him. Didn't he get that from Playhouse Disney or something because it's what Mickey says? Kids sure can be cute!!

I usually steer clear of the baking (for the same reason I steer clear of cooking period, only I'm even worse at baking) but my mom loves it every year. And then she'll suaully put together some brownie mix in a jar for Christmas gifts and I helped make those this year so I'm giving them out to people at work.

I thought maybe I had.

I can mad bake but I am trying to avoid all that this year. But I think Jason is worth baking for.

LOL :rotfl: Until my horrible baking skills turn him away because of my awful Christmas cookies!!

Alright, well I got our tree up with one string of lights. I feel like I did something wrong because it's awfully crooked ... Hmmm. The top just leans to one side a little bit.

My nephew is a Jason too. :lmao:

So what if it doesn't look perfect. That is not what it is about.

Well darn! Now that makes more sense :lmao::lmao:

And you're right. It may not be perfect, but I did it!! Maybe now I can actually get into the Christmas spirit/mood. I'm trying to find some of our Christmas music to turn on. Bing Crosby's White Christmas = the best Christmas album ever.
