Just wanted to post a couple notes from our Veteran's Day weekend trip. We spent Friday in Disneyland and getting there at 8 am was the way to go — park got much more crowded later on. We had to pick up our tickets at guest relations and they couldn't find the keys to open the window at first — they were passing tickets out of the two inch gap the drop down shield created.

Saw Mickey and Minnie immediately upon entering and I have to say that throughout the next two days we saw characters walking around lots — I was happy about that.

Before lunch we were able to hit Indiana Jones (where I completely freaked people by moving the pole — it was great) Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Big Thunder, Snow White, Mr. Toads and the Carousel.

By then we were more than ready for lunch at the Blue Bayou — had a table furthest away from the water and right by the bathroom, but we didn't care at that point. All loved their food — I had the Monte Cristco, which was delicious.

After lunch we were able to hit Star Tours and Honey I Shrunk before the Parade. Then Small World and Roger Rabbit. Plus some shopping and then the fireworks. The fireworks and snow were our teenage daughter and her friend's favorite part of the day.

Friday was DCA and we were there as the doors opened and as they opened the way to ToT. Did that twice in a row — no one else had been on it and needless to say they loved it. Also hit the Muppets movie. Saw a dance show in front of the animation lot — forget the name, but they were great and I was thrilled as soon as I realized that all of the characters they had drawn were coming out and one was Mickey!

Then we headed to Paradise Pier to get a FP for the roller coaster, went on Mulholland Madness, the girls swung in the big Orange. Went to ride the coaster and it was broken down. We were quite disappointed but it actually ended up working out great. My DH went to get us FP for Soaring over CA and then we waited in line for the Grizzly rapids. I found that almost always the wait was much shorter than the posted time — the exception to this being Indian Jones where we waited longer.

We saw the Bug's Life movie and were headed to the ferris wheel when we saw them testing the coaster. Got in the quickly-forming line and were able to walk on, walk off and use our FP to walk on again. An absolutely awesome coaster.

From there to the Ferris Wheel to some shopping and Soaring. Then on to the Aladdin show, which I totally see going to Braodway and another ride on ToT before the electrical parade.

It was great to see the parks decorated and loved having the castle unveiled. Disappointed about Space Mountain and the Matterhorn, but guess that is my excuse to drag everyone back there.

We figured out that we spent 25 1/2 hours in the parks over two days. Pretty good, I guess :teeth:

Sounds like a great trip. And - wow - you certainly squeezed in a lot of "park time" in those two days!!

UGH i cant wait any longer... i need my Disney fix... im starting to play my disney music and attraction stuff on my computer any time i get... :hyper:

I am glad you had fun. Your descriptions are making my wait for our trip more difficult.:)
