Greetings all

Have just returned from 4 great nights at the Disneyland Hotel.

Happy to answer any Q's regarding the Hotel, or the Parks.

Bill

Hi Bill,

I'm sure I speak for others as well when I say I'd love it if you would post a trip report - I for one like all the details! Hotel, restaurants... rides, CM's smiling? etc etc!!

Here's one specific question... Did you by any chance use the skating rink at the New York Hotel? Do you know anything about the entrance rules there (such as can you reenter the same day without paying again?)

Anyway, welcome home. I'm sure you had a great time.

Welcome home Bill,

I'm off to the Disneyland hotel for the first time next week, so I would love to know how everything was.

Did you have dinner at Inventions? Are reservations a must or will the restaurant be quieter midweek in early December?

I understand there is a supervised kids club in the hotel. Do you know how long they take the children for?
I'm wondering if my wife and I will have enough time for a romantic lunch in Blue Lagoon, or only time to run upstairs and order a bottle of champagne from room-service;)

Can you tell us about the overall Xmas theming etc?

Can't wait to hear more!
Thanks in advance

i think you just pay for the time ur on the rink, ie by the half hour, not sure about re-entry

Jody, I will get around to do a trip report ASAP, but for Riccardo I can say the Disneyland Hotel certainly made us feel like a bit of royalty for 4 nights!

Very Christmassy in the foyer, with garlands and a tree in the corner. "Designer" Christmas trees are up on the "Bridge" area of the hotel.

Our room was standard, but had the usual 2 double beds, plus a large sofa, coffee table, a further table and 2 chairs, plus the TV cabinet/mini bar. A small safe was in the wardrobe. Large towels were delivered everyday. The room also had 2 large bathrobes. We did not look over the park, but that did not cause any issue.

The beds were turned down each night, with a choccie coin on each pillow! This amazed our 2 kids. Went swimming one afternoon, complimentary towels given out, Water was a bit on the cool side, but suited the children fine.

Passed the kids club on the way down, but our 2 were not interested, so I cannot comment on the time allowed in there.

We also did not eat in the evening at the resturants in the Hotel. Although they looked great, and I am sure the food was excellent, they seemed a bit pricey, especially inventions, for what was basically a buffet. But please do not let this put you off, plenty of people were eating in there, so they must be OK. (We noticed characters coming and going also.) The reception staff told us to book the resturants for Dinner. Bookings for Breakfast were not neccessary.

The two resturants both open up in the morning for the buffet breakfast. (at least 3 serving areas, so not many queues). We ate at around 9.30-10.00 each morning, and were always seated straight away. Plenty of Hot food, plus cold buffet, cereals, pastries, etc.

Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Chip n Dale, plus one or two others were always on hand in the lounge area outside the resturants for meet and greet, with a "professional" photo opportunity with one of them by the fireplace, picture available in the shop later.

The fact that this Hotel is right on the doorstep is a great boon, especially in the winter time. Although it is an expensive option, if it can be afforded, I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel to anyone. Have a great trip.

Bill, thanks for the post.

It all sounds absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to get there.
I did think Inventions was going to be expensive for a buffet, but we're only staying 3 nights/4 days so I think we will go for it after reading so many good reports about it.

My 8 yr old doesn't know she's going yet, we're not going to tell her until the last minute when she's about to pull on her school blazer on the morning we leave. "you don't need that today , YOU'RE OFF TO DLP!!!!" It's a surprise birthday present so that should be a lot of fun

Thanks again, I'm glad you all had a great time and I'll keep you posted about ours.

Cheers

Riccardo :wave2:
