just back from our 2nd family trip to WDW.

it started a little eventfully as DD (9) caught the winter vomiting bug the night before we were due to fly  and was very sick. On advice from NHS 24 and virgin we went to the airport for check in and asked about flying the next day instead. virgin couldn't have been more helpful. They kept us on standby for that flight to see if she had recovered by the gate then rebooked us on the next days flight when she was still poorly. so after a night in a Glasgow airport hotel we were off next morning on a much quieter flight for our now 13 day break !
Unfortunately I caught the bug and was very sick on the plane out but recovered quickly.

Our first park day at I of A on Easter Monday was busy during the day. We had a lovely lunch in Mythos then went back to the hotel and returned in the evening and rode the Forbbiden journey with a 45 minute queue instead of the 120 earlier in the day.

After that the parks seemed to get much quieter. We made our first trip to Busch Gardens and DH walked on most of the big roller coasters whilst DD and I enjoyed all the animals.

Evening visits to Seaworld , HS , I of A gave us more walk one even the Harry Potter rides :scared1:

we saw the electrical parade for the first time and rode both Space and Splash mountain for the first time with DD. She wasn't sure about Space mountain last time and Splash mountain was closed on our last visit.

We also visited Aquatica for the first time. it's a very pretty park ;) and DD loved the Lazy rivers

Our biggest improvement was the fantastic weather . last time we went in Jan 2010 it was freezing most days . this time it was mega hot !!

Already hoping to convince DH for an onsite vist for Oct 2013 with free dining :woohoo:

Welcome home, sounds like the weather has been great recently, hope its not storing all the rainfall for July/Aug:rotfl:

Our last few days had showers Wayne and some Thunder and Lightening on Friday evening

Great to hear that VA looked after you when DD was poorly
Sounds like you had a wondeful holiday :)

Wow thats amazing service from Virgin!! so pleased they look after their poorly passengers! But so SORRY that that happened and you had to lose a day I ended up in hospital on our last day in 2008 and nearly was not able to fly due to Kidney problem i suffer with! was looked after really well by Thomson but not sure if thats because we had upgraded to Prem economy due to it being our wedding!........................
Im going to be flying 7wks after major head surgery(not by choice they have forgotten to book my surgery date grrrr which means im now left with very little recovery time) so its good to know they handled that so well, did they charge you to do this?i was wondering if they charged you a ticket change price that would have been awful on top of everything else but as you didnt mention it I hope they didnt.
Im glad the rest of your holiday was smooth :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear that you were both poorly but glad the rest of the holiday was a success x

We were warned that they could charge a ticket change price ( I think about £120 each) but they waived it for us as they could see she was poorly. I think had we just done it on the phone we would have been charged but because we went to the airport and they could see her they were more amenable. also the next days flight was mega quiet (only around 100 passengers) so they had plenty space.

Hope you were all feeling better for the rest of the holiday.

Soun like you had great weather and a great time :)

great to hear about good service but sorry that your DD and then you were poorly; I hope it didn't affect your fun too much.

We had a fab time after we arrived so the sickness bug didn't really affect our holiday except for the first day. DD a complete non-shopper ! also fell in  love with the Justice shop in the Florida Mall. Our credit cards are still recovering LOL

yes that is really amazing service from Virgin!! i'm impressed..

so sorry your holiday started out so badly, but glad to hear you both recovered relatively quickly! what bad timing though!!

but it sounds like you have a great time after a difficult start!! :goodvibes
