Just Back!

Well I am back from my first Universal trip.Thanks to all the help on these boards the trip was FANTASTIC...
Portofino Bay was beautiful.More deluxe then Disney and Club level was SOOOO worth it for us.Disney definitely does not corner the market on great employees.Everyone was super nice and helpful.We managed to do all we wanted and many repeats in the 4 park days.Parks were not too bad and wait times were minimal.LOTS of tour groups..and I mean LOTS..I am used to them at Disney but I am surprised there were any people left in Brazil this past week...there were THAT many groups there this week.No issues though.Did see an employee lose it on a group of them.Mostly we avoided them.Forbidden journey was ridden multiple times and was great, but we actually loved Spiderman more.Overall we loved the Studios more than IOA.Go figure.
In any event, We will definitely be back..As a matter of fact, it was unanimous that we will go back to Universal next year and MAYBE visit Disney .But I think our days of staying onsite at Disney are done for awhile.Thanks again..If there are any questions, Fire away and I will do my best to answer

Details.

I got on line for Spiderman I saw a HUGE tour group going on to the regular line so I jumped on the Express line side(stayed PBH).Got in row 2 for our car.The Tm asked for a group of 4 from the standby line.They all were chanting/cheering etc..He yelled again I need a group of 4.No one comes forward.Finally 2 come forward and he yells I need 2 more.They are all chanting/cheering and ignoring him.So he yells "You need to SHUT up and listen or NONE of you will ride.I need 2 more" No one comes forward so he goes to dispatch our car.The 2 that got on now try to CLIMB OFF..He stops the car pulls them off and started yelling.He dispatched us then so I didn't get to the see the outcome.I will tell you we got off and back on to re-ride and the standby line was empty.There were at leat 60 of them in line.So either they got kicked off or they moved fast on getting them through the ride.The only other incident I had was when I rode the Hulk.They tried hopping the line in front of me-tour guide and all..I said "no" and a Tm came right over and put a stop to it.After that I avoided the groups.It helped they didn't have express pass.

Glad to hear a good report overall. It seems the best advice I keep hearing is to ......avoid the tour groups!
