Just back from Thanksgiving at WDW. We had an amazing time and crowds weren't as bad as I expected.

We stayed at Kidani Village and went to MVMCP. I'd be happy to answer any questions if I can. :goodvibes

Thanks for the link, but I'm not planning on doing a trip report. Just wanted to offer any help I can to people heading to WDW soon.

How was Kidani? We will be staying there for our first time coming up in January. Did you have a car or take the buses? I'm glad you had a great time!

Just got back, too. I thought the crowds were very managable if you arrived by rope drop and got the headliners done early. I was expecting more crowds, so it was a nice surprise....

We LOVED Kidani. Every CM we encountered was super friendly and helpful and the theming of the resort is just wonderful. We had a savanna view room and we all loved hanging out on the balcony and watching the animals. I love that the 2 BR units have 3 bathrooms (Jambo 2 BR's have 2 bathrooms).

Our room was at the end of the hallway (which was very long), but the CM who checked us in said it was on a great savanna. We didn't really mind being far from the lobby, especially since we had a car. It would have been a long walk to the bus stop though.

The pool and kids splash area were great and there were 2 hot tubs. One was away from the pool up near the entrance to the slide and it seemed that very few people bothered going up to that one.

We did the Wishes Dessert Party and MVMCP (not on the same night) and those were both fantastic!

The crowds weren't bad at all if you got to the parks early and made good use of FP's. I wouldn't hesitate to go at Thanksgiving again. And the weather was perfect!

Glad you enjoyed it! We plan on staying at Kidani next year in a 2 bedroom. We will have 7 adults (all but one is family)...do you think it is doable? Our family loves being together, but I want to make sure that DDs BFF will have adequate privacy (especially the bathroom). We plan on putting DD/BFF in the bedroom with 2 queens, DS and DDIL in the master, and myself, DH and DS in the living room. Are the rooms really a long walk from Jambo House? TIA

We stayed in October in a 2 bedroom with 8 and it was awesome. The three bathrooms were great. Dh and I were in the master bdrm with the baby. My mom and cousin and dd were in the two queens. My ds 13 and ds 2 slept on the pull out. It was all good. The savannah views are beautiful. The master bathrooms are by far my favorite of all the DVC resorts. So beautiful. You could just live in the shower! Dh would shower while the two little ones played on the floor, getting everyone clean at once. The kids loved it! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The staff was also one of the best we've encountered. You'll be very happy.

Yes, I think it's very doable. We also had 7 people, but not all adults. We put my parents in the master bedroom. DH & I and DS5 slept in the bedroom with the two queen beds. DD12 slept on the sofabed and DS10 slept on the sleeper chair. As soon as the kids were up in the morning, we folded up their beds so that we had plenty of space in the living room.

Thanks! DH gets up at 4:00am (yes, even on vacation) so we figured the living room would be better for us to sleep. That way he could leave and go wandering around the resort and not be trapped in the bathroom for several hours:lmao: We won't be doing Savannah view, but have read that requesting near the lobby is the best option. Do you have any thoughts on that?
