just back with a 3.5 month old! Any questions?

Glad everyone likes the diaper pack idea! We used it when DS 4 was a toddler and it worked quite well so we continued it for this trip. I got lots of comments on it in the restrooms too. :) IT really makes it easier at change time since you don't have to keep up with your diaper bag, just the little bag of diaper essentials. I did the same thing with a change of clothes. I had the clothes in a gallon size bag and had a change pack in it as well. That way I had a bag to put the dirty/wet clothes in too as well as the stinky diaper if need be.

It's very convenient! :)

My husband suggested today that I add to this that our biggest challenge with our baby was getting him enought stretch out and play time. He was always either in the front pack or the stroller. When we would put him on a changing table to change his diaper he immediately stretched out and started smiling and cooing. We started going back to the resort for breaks once we realized that was what he was really needing. There were a couple of times I took him back while DH did one or two more rides with the big boys before meeting us back at the resort for dinner or something. :)

How great! I had a baby boy in early October!

We're taking off tomorrow. He's already been to MK and Epcot, so I don't have any questions.
I am reading your answers though! Very helpful! Thanks. :goodvibes

If you forget anything or need anything, all the Disney parks have baby areas where you can nurse, change a baby, purchase spare diapers / OTC medicines etc. The one at AK is great - it has a large changing area and an area for kids to watch a movie or allow little one to stretch out.

Well worth knowing where they are.

Thanks for the idea about the diaper packs. I think that's a great one! Every little piece of good advice is greatly appreciated!

I am also wondering about the infant carseat on the plane issue. My infant will be a lap child, so I'm sure the infant carseat won't be allowed on the plane. I'm nervous about checking it with luggage and it getting lost. I'm also not looking forward to gate-checking it for fear that it'll get a little beat up and dirty from that.

If you are using DME for your stay then you won't need the infant car seat at all for transportation.

We always take our carseat with us and check it in the hold. Never had a problem yet.

We do have a car seat bag for it, so that it doesn't get marked or dirty. We bought ours from Babies R Us a 4 or 5 years ago - it is a heavy canvas type material and has stood up to both domestic and international travel.

I also love the diaper pack idea! I'll definitely use it next month when we take my DD on her first trip; she'll be 5 months. Glad to hear that fireworks weren't an issue...that's one thing I'm curious to see how she'll handle. Thanks for all the great tips, can't wait to post my own when we get back!

My DS was funny because he would sometimes flinch to a really loud boom but he was still sound asleep.

Thanks for all the GREAT tips. We will be there in Sept with a 2-2.5 month old, 2 yr old and 4 yr old :crazy2: . I'm thinking it will be easier because it will be so small too, and with the baby being a little smaller I'm thinking they won't need too much stretch out time.

Loved the change pack ideas, thanks!!!

I'm bringing my Mac Twin Rally and it can be a bit tippy with a heavy bag on the back. I'm also taking a sling, so hopefully we won't need to rent a stroller there. If we do, no big deal though.

Glad you had a great trip with an infant. Sorry you had a negative comment about nursing.

And a tip for the Macs that I got from another poster. I went to Target and bought ankle weights. I think ours were 3 lbs each and wrapped them around the front legs of the stroller, right above the wheels to prevent the stroller from tipping. It worked like a charm. It did make the stroller heavier to push, but I really didn't notice it. I'd take that over a tipping stroller every time your kids get out of the stroller.

You just cannot win with nursing in public! I swear!! And it is sad that a mother made a comment...people are so RUDE...I cannot imagine every having the gull to say anything. But I guess as a nursing mother I am biased. But with that said, I have a dear friend who is nursing her son and will whip it out ANYWHERE with no or minimal covering...my DH (she also did it in front of my dad and mom) commented to me and I finally had to say to her that it would be nice if she made it more discrete...that just because I don't cover myself in front of my DH doesn't mean that she shouldn't...you know??

One complaint that I have about WDW is their nursing facilities. They have the one place in Magic Kingdom up by the Crystal Palace...it is a large room with about 4 rocking chairs (and everytime I went in there it was PACKED and I ended up sitting on the floor)...not that I mind nursing in front of other women but it is too much...my DD needed a little bit more one on one since she was in overload. I really liked the nursing facilities at SeaWorld, there were more of them for one and you had a nice private room with a rocking chair, changing table, etc. It was nice to go in there and give the baby some one on one time...I know she liked that too.

And remember that they have a little "pharmacy like place" in the care center where the nursing room is...we were surprised because DD managed to lose a bunch of nuks so one day we had to go buy her some (and we had to buy diaper rash cream) and they were maybe a dollar more each then we would have paid at Target...that really surprised me because I figured that they would cost a LOT more. But they also sell diapers, meds, etc.
