We arrived at the Grand California hotel about 7:00 on friday and left at 2:30 on sunday. The hotel was beautiful. We had a park view and looked out on the orange and mickey's ears. My daughter wanted to go home until I opened the drape and she saw the park. I don't know if she thought we were staying for a long time and she would miss school or that I was going to leave her with the person we went with (she babysits her). So we went to the new park and ate very expensive Mcdonalds because we wanted to see the electrIcal parade and were at a good area.

Went to DL on saturday and was there at opening. We went on all my daughters rides before 10 and then walked around a little. I was dissapointed and will never go again at this time of year. The bears are being removed so that was closed, the carrosel and small world were also closed. Since my daughter can only go on 6 rides, about half her rides were down. We still had fun thought - but never in april again. We usually go in May and her rides are usually all or most are open. The tea cups and peter pan got alot of use!

We did Mary poppins tea and Minnie's breakfast. Mary Poppins was wonderful - both the food and fun. Minnie & friends breakfast was very disappointing since we have done it before. It used to had Minnie, Merlin (who did magic), & then guatin & bell who sang. It was a wonderful little show and good food. While the food is still good., only Minnie and Max were there. and they just walked around.

It was also very crowded all over. but we were able to time things so that we missed alot of the crowdes. We went to the World of Disney friday night and it was packed. We went again on Saturday about 5:30 and it was alot nicer.

We did have a good time inspite of my few disappointments. We are probable going in october again. I am looking forward to the hotel and Mary Poppin's tea again. We will find another character breakfast and spend more time at the new park.

Thanks for the report, what did you especially enjoy about the hotel that would influence you to stay there again as opposed to somewhere else ?:)

Judy,

The hotel was very nice and the rooms were a nice size for us. The layout was good. I also liked the location. It was nice to be able to look out onto the park and it is in the middle of everything. We walked out one door to the new park, another door to DTD and DL, and another one to go to Paridise Pier Hotel. It was very convenent. They also had nice robes in the room and turn down service.

I was not going to stay there but it was or friend's request. I figured if we were spurging, we mite as well get a park vuew. I usually stay at the Desert Inn and Suits because of the price and it was close to the DL entrance. Since my daughter is special needs, being close is very important as is the type of room - we tend to spend more time in the room then most and the short walk is important. We probable would not have done as much if we had been in the Desert Inn just because of the distance from DTD & the PP Hotel.
