We just got back from our trip to WDW. We used the Armed Forces Salute tickets. DH is Active Duty so he was free. I am ANG and I happen to do my AT during the window of opportunity, so I was free also. We paid $105 (tax included) for the companion ticket for DD 4.5; DD 22months was free. They were awesome tickets. The CM at the TTC who got them for us told us they were the best deal she had ever seen!
Weather was pretty good overall. Definitely hot, but New Orelans is far more humid. Fans (not necessarily mister fans) were a definite must have! The Britta water bottles were also great. DH was rather impressed with my savvy knowledge on some of this stuff (thanks everyone!). It did rain during parts of a couple of days, and with one exception, we were at the resort for naptime when the rain hit.
Crowds were very manageable the entire week. We rarely had to use FP, but we did use it to our advantage. Friday am, we walked onto Splash Mountain twice without needing an FP. The longest we waited for anything was Kali River Rapids and that was a bad post time. Standby wait was supposedly 20 minutes, but it took us an hour to get up there. Other than that, we found most standby times to be within 5 minutes of the posted wait.
We stayed at the Contemporary through Shades of Green. We were in Room 7307. Couldn't see MK, but we had a front row seat for the EWP every night!
Full trip report to be posted on the Trip Report Board in the next day or two.
