Horace, I know you actually meant to refer to Categories 5 & 6, aft of Cateogory 7.Originally posted by Horace Horsecollar
Regarding the "completely obstructed view" --
All Category 6 and Category 7 staterooms aft of the Category 7 (Navigator's Verandah) staterooms have metal, not plexiglass, below the railing. Above the railing, the view is not at all obstructed. The exterior photographs of the ships in the DCL brochure clearly show this.
My reason for posting this so that future Category 6 passengers won't think they need to worry about a "completely obstructed view."

We really didn't take advantage of the concierge services since we already had Palo booked and I was just very very happy that I had such a lovely room since I was stuck in it with a seasick child.
My favorite part of the room was the size, do I think it would be worth the extra thousands??? I'm not sure but it will be hard for us to stay in smaller now.
Highlight of the trip was meeting Mike Stanton and his family onboard. They were really very nice and it was nice to see that people really left him alone and didn't bombard him for autographs

That was my question. I was onboard that week and could have run into him a million times (he was right across the hall) but had know idea who he was. I was told he is a baseball player but who he plays for I don't know.

Nasty rumor is correct...I was a little dissapointed about the bathtub since my son is only 4 and does not like the shower but he really had no choice.
Still a great room though....must have been a pretty penny for the new years eve cruise. I think I would definitely like to try that some time.
