Just got back from a great trip to Disneyland and wanted to share some thoughts/observations!
1st- we rented points for 1 bedroom GCV for 5 nights. We were in room 2507 with a view of the Mariposa pool. LOVED the villa-we had 3 people most nights (me, hubby, my mom) but two nights we were joined by my daughter and her boyfriend. The space was perfect for 3, but 5 was pushing it in terms of personal space and getting on each others nerves, lol.
Having laundry in the room was terrific - we all were able to just bring one small carryon and throw stuff in the wash as needed.
We had dinner at Carthay Circle. Beautiful setting, good food (but pricey, whew!). 8:00 pm reservations, did the 10:15 WOC. WOC was everyone's favorite.
We also did the Fantasmic dessert thing. It was nice to have seats and the food was yummy. I have to get 1 thing off my chest about the Glow with the show ears, though - we were sitting directly behind a family wearing them and they were sooo distracting! The effect was cool, but being only about 12 inches from someone wearing them kind of destroyed our "premium viewing". The family wearing the ears was so excited and enjoying the show and the ears so much that I would've felt awful saying anything, so I didn't.
The only other thing I'd note was that this time my mom was in a wheelchair and the disabled access to most of the rides was handled really well. The cast members were unfailingly helpful and caring. We were surprised that for a couple of rides (Small World and Splash), the wait in the disabled access was significantly longer than the posted stand-by wait time. I have never had a 45 minute wait for Small World (stand by was posted as 20 minutes.) This wasn't a big deal for us, as my mom is only temporarily disabled and just has trouble standing for more than a few minutes, but I felt bad for some in the lines with us who were having trouble waiting that long.
All in all, a great trip! Crowds were manageable, I love Red's Apple Freeze, the weather was warm but not intolerable and I can't wait to start planning my next trip!
