We just returned from an 8 night stay at AKL Jambo with savanna view. We had 6 park days (2-MK, 2-HS, 1-EP, 1-AK). This was our first trip to the parks since the summer of 2019. Here are some observations about the trip:

-Resort: We love savanna view! It was the first time we were on the sunset savanna and we saw more animals than we ever have! We stayed in a 2BR lockoff. The room was a little banged up. Cabinets and tables were scratched. Other furniture was in good shape. Can we talk about the bathtub though? I mean having a jetted tub was neat but having to step into the jetted tub/shower combo was a challenge. I can’t imagine someone with mobility issues having to do that.

-Buses: We used bus transportation only for MK and DS. No complaints at all. We had very short waits going to and from. We drove to AK, HS, and EP.

-Genie+: I am so glad we paid for Genie+ and ILL. This combined with rope drop allowed us to do everything we wanted to do and not stay in the parks all day.

-Food: Most QS menus have changed since 2019. Favorites like chicken and waffles at Backlot Express are no more:(
Our favorite TS restaurants O’Hana and Garden Grill were fabulous!

-Merchandise: We saw a lot of the same stuff in every shop. There wasn’t much variety. We saw ONE 2022 pin and couldn’t find any 2022 Christmas ornaments. Previously, those types of things were easy to find in any shop. I’m guessing it’s a supply issue.

This is the reason we will no longer book at AKV-Jambo. It’s Kidani for us!

Kidani is underrated. Jambo is awesome, but I would rather take the Kidani extra bathroom (in the 1 & 2 BR) and the covered parking.

Kidani will jump through the roof once it refurbishes those couches for Murphy beds. The sleeping arrangements at AKL are just brutal. It’s a resort kids love , but they have the worst 2nd beds for them. They really need the Murphy beds and drop down beds under the TV.

Honestly I liked the room setup and being able to take the chair sleeper in to the master bedroom when the kids were young.

Murphy beds though are the way to go overall. Now that the kids are going to be in their own room and if we have grand parents with us we really only look at resorts with murphy beds which is easy for us with Riviera and then we snagged a stay this summer in VGF.

I agree with you about the chair. It’s a very nice add in for the 1-2 bedrooms. We just had a 2 bedroom dedicated and it was tremendous having the 2 queen beds and the chair. If I had my way, I would have the drop down bed and the Murphy in all studios. So much better with kids.
I’m surprised you drove to AK. That and MK are the 2 bus stations that are the best to take from there. They park you so far from gate at AK that it’s so much quicker to bus.

I'm here now and loving the Genie Plus. We did MK on Monday and didn't have to wait in line for a single ride. We got to the park at 8am. We had a a breakfast ADR in the castle for 9am so our granddaughter was able to ride rides in fantasy land before breakfast and we used LL for everything else after.
We noticed the same with the merchandise. Very disappointing we can't find anything Jasmine except a plastic necklace and a $99 jewelry box from Arribian brothers
