Rainforest - A big negative for lunch. I've never had good service there and the food is overpriced with no discount for us DDE members. My son (1 yr) hated it because they yelled "VOLCANO!" every time they brought out their signature dessert and it scared the begeezits out of him!

Ohana - YES! The menu change is DEFINITELY for the better and believe it... the bread pudding is THAT GOOD! It was THE BEST dessert I had during the whole trip! Definite THUMBS UP!

Tony's Town Square - Great for lunch! The chicken parm hero and the meatball hero were great, as was the service. I hear a lot of negative stuff on the boards about Tony's, but we really enjoyed it.

California Grill - Still a favorite. The food and the service was supremo on V-day! I had the duck 3 ways - YUMMY!!! The view of the fireworks were great and the waiter made great wine recommendations.

Beaches and Cream - Yes, we ordered the kitchen sink... just DH and I and our 1 year old. We didn't make that much of a dent in it but boy it was tasty! It (Beaches) was VERY difficult for us to find. 3 (THREE!) cast members gave us the completely wrong directions. I'm talking CMs that work AT the BEACH CLUB! It was very small but the food was good and the service was super. Not sure we'll go back though. Not very relaxing.

Chefs de France - YUMMY!!! DH and I can't believe that we've never dined here! Our dinner was AMAZING! We couldn't get over how great it was. The service was fabulous and we saw a lot of Illuminations from our table!

Mama Melrose - It used to be so much better. I like this place because it's very comfortable and never overcrowded at lunch time. Flatbread was pretty good. The calamari was good, but not as good as it used to be.

Concourse - YUCK! I couldn't believe how bad it was. Service was terrible, the waiter was completely clueless and the meal was just plain icky. It made me feel sick to my stomach. I was surprised since we've eaten there twice before. I also requested a table from which my DS could see the monorail and they sat him facing that wall that's under the monorail so it's completely impossible to see it.

Liberty Tree - Decent lunch. Not great, but not bad. Good french fries and strawberry shortcake.

Artist Point - That smokey portabello mushroom soup is still THE BEST! My filet was decent and DH loved his pork. The menu is not as exciting as it used to be, back in the day when you could get rabbit sausage or boar for an appetizer and ostrich, venison and elk all on the same plate for your entree.

Cinderella's Royal Table - Our first experience here for breakfast. The food was fantastic, as was the service. We LOVED this breakfast! We were disappointed however that we told the CRO, the hostess, 3 princesses and the Fairy Godmother that it was DS's FIRST birthday and nothing was done for him. I was NOT happy about that, but we definitely plan on going back, yummy! (The princesses did all kiss him and he looked SO CUTE afterwards! Little stud!)

Whispering Canyon Cafe - Decent Food. Great for DS's First b-day! If you want a decent cake you can get one. The CM's were SHOCKED (and so were we) at how BEAUTIFUL my son's B-day cake was! They did a FANTASTIC job! What can I say... the squeaky wheel got oiled. Don't let Disney tell you that they just do plain round cakes! This thing had 3-d cowboy boots and a hat made from white chocolate with wooden nickels stuck in front with a sheriff's badge... I'll have to post a pic when I download from the cam.

Garden Grill - What a nice lunch! Quiet, not crowded and CHARACTERS! DS loved Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto! DS got french fries, mac n cheese and chicken fingers (all yummy) for no charge because he was under 3! They also gave him a make-you-own-cupcake thing. Our waiter was FABULOUS and so cute!

Okay, so not as short and quick as I thought but hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Yep that was the first meal I had there. plus the cobbler. I agree it has mellowed some. But it is a beautiful place.

Great! We are wondering on another thread if anyone has recently been to LTT for lunch and seen the kids menu. Do you remember if they are serving the new items:

"Just Dip It" - Assorted fruits, vegetables, chicken salad, hummus, and light strawberry yogurt served with baked whole wheat pita chips. $6.99

Beef and Macaroni - Whole wheat macaroni, ground beef, marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese served with green beans, baby carrots, and fruit salad. $6.99

Tasty Tofu - Seasoned tofu with whole grain pilaf, broccoli, baby carrots served with fruit salad and milk. $6.99

Deconstructed Vegetarian Quesadilla Refried beans, corn, cheese dip and baked whole wheat tortilla chips served with lettuce, salsa, sour cream and cinnamon sugar apples. $6.99

Pita Pizza Whole wheat pita topped with diced chicken and mozzarella cheese served with Cinnamon Sugar Apples and Shredded Vegetable Salad. $6.99

Grilled Mahi Mahi - Mahi mahi, pineapple salsa, brown sugar sweet potato sticks, and green beans served with yogurt parfait. $6.99

....................OR are they back to Mac and Cheese and the regular kids menu stuff?

Thanks! We have an ADR here because of the new menu, but it changed back to the old stuff we don't need to go, so this will help us out a lot if you can let us know if it changed back.

Loved your reviews!

Just a question for the OP if you don't mind - did you order the birthday cake through Whispering Canyon itself, Disney dining or a totally separate "bakery" number? It sounds great! Thanks very much!

What a great memory for your child's first birthsday! That cake sounds beautiful.

And I'm glad you had a positive experience at Tony's. We are trying it in August. Thanks!

Thanks for your reviews! I totally agree with you about the bread pudding at Ohana...Best dessert I had the whole trip when we were there in October...and I don't even like bread pudding!

Thanks for the reviews...was just wondering what you had to eat at Chefs de France. :confused3 We will be going there for the first time in June. Also, we are celebrating our dd 9th b-day there and would like to know how you went about ordering your cake...TIA :cheer2:  :cool1:

The cake was wonderful and REALLY tasty. Everyone was fighting over who would get to take it home! I had called the Disney "cake line" and they told me that they only had plain cakes. After talking to many CMs, I finally got to the "Food and Beverage Manager" at the Wilderness Lodge. She's the one who told me they had chocolate boots and a hat and who handled everything for me. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Like I said... I'll have to post a pic soon!

I had the duck (YUM!) and DH had the lamb. The onion soup was excellent too! He enjoyed his creme brulee and the chocolate mousse was a little less sweet than I usually like, but still very good. See my previous post, but I spoke to the Food and Beverage Manager at the Wilderness Lodge. They charged me $55 for a 1/4 sheet cake and no one in my family could believe that I wasn't charged more!

MMM sounds yummy!! Thanks again... I will have to try and get a hold of someone at Chef Mickeys to arrange a cake for my daughter.

Welcome back and thanks for the reviews. You made me hungry when you mentioned that mushroom soup at AP--it's just "to die for"!! Also glad you liked O'Hana. We've been apprehensive to go back because it's gotten so many bad reviews since they changed the menu. Maybe we will try it again?

Sorry to hear they didn't bother to do anything for dd's birthday at CRT's. I won't even go there with the way I feel about this restaurant anymore :scratchin

Sorry to hear about Concourse Steakhouse. You should drop Guest Relations a little email about that (and it wouldn't hurt to mention the "forgotten" event at CRT's).

I see you are from RPB...I was in your neck of the woods today, do you like it up there?

Thanks for posting your reviews.

ITA about Tony's, O'hana, and Beaches and Cream. I could not have said it better myself.

as for the Concourse, this is the 2nd time TODAY that I read a negative review....I guess it won't be on our list of must do's.

Happy belated birthday to your sweet DS!

We went for supper in January. It was our second time and I loved it both times. I don't like how noisy it is, though. First time we went our food took ForEVer to come out. I'm a vegetarian so usually I have to put up with mediocre restaurant food, but the veggie burger here is delicious! (whats up with the chips though?? bleh!) We saw the volcano the first time around and figured we would try it (my dad and I Love chocolate and my mom likes it). We thought that it was coming out on a little dessert plate though--nope its on a HUGE dinner plate. This last time, we saved room all day for it and finished it. Mmmmm. *drools* :mickeybar

:thumbsup2 Yes, I loved it too!!!

OP, did you get the DDE discount at CRT? I've read conflicting info on whether they accept the DDE or not. Thanks! And thanks too for the review. :)
