Hello,

We're back from another fantastic Disney vacation. Our dining experiences were very good overall!! It was just me (25) and my dad (61) on this trip, (we were not on the dining plan) and here goes:

5/24: After checking into Pop, we decided to head to Downtown Disney. It was around lunch time and I had been wanting to try Earl of Sandwich, since it gets pretty good reviews around here. I had the original (roast beef, cheddar, and horseradish) and my dad had some barbeque roast beef special. The bread the sandwiches are make with is fantastic!! Warm and crunchy and yuumm!! We both enjoyed our lunch and would definitely come back!

5/24, Dinner: I had planned to be in the MK this night so I had made ADR's for LTT. The place was a first for both of us. My dad is kind of a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy so I figured he would enjoy this. Well, I was right. I didn't try the ham, but everything else was tasty. The mac and cheese was great!! And the apple cobbler dessert, very very good!! I think my dad ate enough for about 3 people, he loved it, lol. Our server was very nice, and efficient. The character interaction was good, each came to our table several times. There was Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale, and Pluto. Also, I thought the atmosphere here was very comfy and cozy.

5/25, Breakfast: Bagel in our room. Exciting, I know.

Lunch: This was an AK day, so we decided on Flame Tree. For some reason I don't think I had ever eaten a meal in AK before, but I knew this was a place I wanted to try. We both had the Pork sandwich, which came with corn on the cob and baked beans. We walked down and grabbed a table by the water with a great view of Everest. We both we happy with our choices. The pork was tender, the corn fresh and the beans had a slightly sweet taste to them. Definitely good for a counter-service place. :)

Dinner: ESPN is kind of a tradition for us, so we headed over for dinner.
There was a pretty long line for the dining room so we decided to sit in the bar area. (I like this area better anyway, I think it's quieter) It took about a good 10-15 minutes for a server to come over. We were about to go get someone when one finally came by. Service was fine after that. We both ordered the traditional burger. ESPN has one of the best burgers in WDW in my opinion. Big and delicious!! The fries aren't bad either. My dad loved having all the tv's to watch, it's definitely a nice bonus for a sports fan.

5/26, Breakfast: Crystal Palace, 8:00, before park opening. The CP is another tradition for us, its our favorite breakfast in WDW. I had been here before park opening before and thought it was a pretty neat experience and wanted to share that with my dad. Everything at this place is hot and fresh and tasty!!!! Can't recommend it enough! Eeyore played peek-a-boo with a baby sitting at the table next to us, it was ADORABLE. It was another fantastic meal at CP. We were done around 8:45, so we walked around the castle and main street with noone around, its so surreal!!

We skipped lunch today since we had a massive breakfast.

Dinner: We were walking around world showcase and were starting to get hungry. It was early, around 4:00, so I figured we might be able to get into Le Cellier. The hostess said they were taking walk-ins, woo hoo!!! I had been here before, my dad hadn't. I can pretty much some this up in one word: wow. It was amazing!! I started with the cheese soup, dad started with the ceasar salad. He gobbled his up, I thought the soup was just okay. The breadsticks were very good. We both ordered the 7 oz filet with maple barbeque sauce and cream cheese mashed potatoes. They were cooked perfectly and were tender. The potatoes were the best I've ever had! Soo good!!! For dessert I ordered the maple creme brulee and dad had the chocolate whiskey cake. I enjoyed mine but it was a bit too rich after about the 5th bite. My dad ate his entire gigantic slice of cake, I couldn't believe it!! Service was fine, no complains. The atmosphere in here is also very cozy, and a nice respite after walking around in 90 degree heat!!

5/27 Today we left Orlando to visit my brother who lives in the Tampa area. We returned to Disney late on 5/29.

5/30, Breakfast: Made an ADR for Boma, as I've been dying to visit the AKL. Well the lodge is definitely amazing. The restaurant is beautiful as well. No complaints really, everything was very good, but we enjoy CP more. :)

Lunch: Again, no lunch, huge breakfast.

Dinner: We were in Epcot near Mexico so we peeked into San Angel to see if we could get a table, but no such luck, they were booked up. We decided to head over to the Boardwalk and check out Spoodles. What a pleasant suprise this was. We started with the four cheese flatbread. It was tasty, but very rich, we couldnt finish it. I chose the fettucine alfredo as my entree and dad had the salmon. Everything was perfect. I thought this place was a tad pricey, but the portions were very large! We split the vanilla creme brulee for dessert, it was just okay. Service was very attentive and helpful :)

5/31, Breakfast: Pop Tart in room.

Lunch: We were in the MK, and I was craving a hot dog. Only one place to go for that, Casey's!! Huge dogs and very yummy!!

Dinner: This was our final night in the world so I made an ADR for our favorite place, Ohana. This place is seriously sent from above, lol. We checked in early for our ressie and sat in the lounge and had a drink and listened to the musician playing Hawaiian music, it was soo relaxing!! We were seated early for our ADR. Woo! Everything came out pretty quickly, but I didn't really feel rushed. Our "cousin" was really friendly and did a great job. I loove the dressing that comes on the salad, yum! The wings are fantastic as well. I think my dad ate all the shrimp, lol. The steak was the best that night, followed closely by the pork. The meat dipped in the peanut sauce is awesome!! We ordered seconds of that sauce. The turkey and sausage were just okay. I was soo stuffed by the time the bread pudding came out but I knew how delicious it was so I managed a few bites, lol.

Well that's it! We didn't have one bad experience this trip! We really enjoyed everywhere we went and wouldn't hesitate to return to all of them!!

Sounds wonderful, great to have some 1 on 1 time with your dad. We tried Ohana dinner and loved it, think we'll try Spoodles next year and maybe San Angel's Inn too, among others. Glad you had what sounds like a great time, will be trying Crystal Palace for the first time, maybe I should try for an early ADR, to have that experience of no one else around, he he.

Anyway, glad you had a great trip with good eating!

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Sounds like you and your dad had a wonderful time and enjoyed some great meals together. Thanks for telling us about them! :)

Thanks! We are doing just about all the same restaurants this time! I can't wait for LTT, CP, Ohana and Le Cellier!

One question, coming from the middle of the country where steak is religion, did it taste sweet at Le Cellier? DH would lose his mind if it does.

Great reviews! Thanks. I agree with you about Ohana. LOVE the new menu. :)

We usually eat at Tusker House at AK, but after your review of Flame Tree, we may have to try that one!
