We did a split stay at AS Movies and then over to Sierra Suites and loved it!

Some perks:

-Free light breakfast every day (cereal, muffins, bagels, coffee, OJ)
-Kitchen in room (no oven, but microwave, toaster, full size refrigerator, mini-stove--two ranges), dishwasher, sink and dished provided.
-2 queen beds, 1 pull out sofa
-very clean and neat
-laundry room, pool
-bus service to WDW & Universal

Although I was sad to leave an on-site resort, I certainly didn't miss the buses (with a stroller, and two kids, and my preggo self, I was much more comfortable using the van to drive over, 10 mins and then rely on boats and monorails where I never once folded up that double stroller of ours).

If anyone has any other questions, feel free to ask!

Was this the one on Palm Parkway? I've always wanted to know about this hotel!

Thanks for the review. Did you get a good rate?

It was actually the one on Universal (which was still close and we actually passed by the one on Palm Parkway, it looked fine from the outside).

Since dh was there for business, we got the government rate (we paid $76.91 for the one night that we paid) and since we stayed over 6 nights, our 7th night was free! (his work picked up the tab---$461.64!)

One additional note: I did take their shuttle once (only one way, since dh was meeting me at the parks after his class that day) and it was a very comfortable charter bus, where I was able to stash my stroller (folded) underneath. However, our hotel was the first of about 5 or 6 others and it took about 45 min to get to the park that day, but at least I didn't have to worry about driving back and forth for dh...

Thank you very much for posting!!! I'm considering this hotel for two nights in August before checking in at PBH at Universal, and it's not always easy to get info about specific hotels, since there are so many of them there!!!!

How was the pool area? How large was the room, since it's a one room semi-suite? Were the kids able to fall asleep while you were lounging in the other area? This hotel is very inexpensive on hotelkingdom.com, and I'm trying to decide between it and the hojo on I-drive. (I'm also trying to decide one night or two off-site!)

The pool area was nice, not anything special, but very clean. You could only access the area with your room key, which was nice. The day I went to it, they had it closed until 3pm for cleaning, so it was very clean...lots of room for lounging too. I'd say average size.

The room size was great, about double the All-Stars if I had to guess. The kids did great sleeping while we stayed up a little longer; the tv even swiveled towards the couch area so we were able to watch a little tv (they also had a vcr there).

HTH!

Let me know if you have any other questions!
